PROGRAMME OF STUDY
E X A M I N AT I O N R E S U LT S
Modelling Physics In 2021, 18.2% of students were awarded an A* for Physics. Overall, students achieved 60%
Development of practical A*-A grades and 100% A*-C grades. Across the whole 2021 cohort, 29% of students have
skills in physics (M1) progressed onto a STEM-related course at university, which is a 3% improvement compared
to 2020. Of these students, 15% are now studying a physics-related course, including
Foundations in physics
Natural Sciences, Civil Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering
(M2) at a range of universities, including Cambridge, Southampton, Bath and Imperial College
Forces and motion (M3) London.
Newtonian world and
astrophysics (M5)
37% of total A Level Students will complete a minimum of 12 practical investigations, including investigating
motion, waves, electrical properties, ionising radiation and quantum effects.
FUTURE CAREERS
Unified Physics
All modules (M1-M6)
Studying A Level Physics opens doors to a huge range of future courses and careers and
are assessed
is counted as a ‘facilitating’ subject by the Russell Group of universities.
Exam paper (70 marks) For many universities, A Level Physics is a pre-requisite for studying Engineering
or Medicine. Students go on to study Automotive engineering, Computer Science,
1 hours 30 minutes
Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical engineering and Physics.
26% of total A Level Our students have also been awarded positions on a wider range of degree courses,
such as Biology, Chemistry and Chemical engineering.
