FOOD AND DELICACIES
Cavite's Bacalao
In Cavite, it has been adapted to include local ingredients such as tomatoes, bell peppers, and olives.

Laguna's Kesong Puti


Kesong Puti is a soft, fresh, and unripened white cheese made from carabao's milk.

Laguna's Buko Pie


Buko Pie is a popular Filipino dessert made from young coconut meat (buko) encased in a flaky pie crust.

Batangas Lomi
Batangas Lomi is a thick and hearty noodle soup made with fresh egg noodles, pork, chicken, liver, shrimp, and an
assortment of vegetables.

Batangas Bulalo
it is a type of Filipino beef shank soup in clear broth. Vegetables such as cabbage and bok choy are also added to
the dish, while there are versions that even use sweet corn

Kiping is a colorful, wafer-thin, and translucent rice cracker made from ground glutinous rice.

FESTIVALS & SPECIAL EVENTS


Coffee Festival or Pahimis Festival (Amadeo)
PAHIMIS is the Amadeo word for “pasasalamat” (thanksgiving) in the olden times. As a tradition, coffee farmers
gave away his last can of harvest as a sign of thanksgiving, believing that by doing so, luck and abundance would come
on the next harvest season.

Hijas de Maria (General Trias City)


May 1 – 31 A month long celebration held in honor of their patron Saint. Church is decorated with beautiful
flowers. An age-old tradition of General Trias(Malabon), Cavite observed every May, the month of the Blessed Virgin
Mary where a lady (usually, a maiden) puts a crown and a necklace made of Sampaguita on the Virgin's image, this is
done everyday.

Regada Water Festival


is a festival in Cavite City in which the merry-making is centered on sprinkling water. It is a week-long
celebration starting on the second week of June and ends on the feast day of St. John the Baptist, June 24. Regar is a
Spanish word meaning 'to sprinkle' or 'to water'.

Sublian Festival
It's a celebration of the town's devotion to the Holy Cross in Bauan and Agoncillo, as well as the Sto. Nino icon in
Batangas City. The date of the festival coincides with the city's founding anniversary.

Higante Festival
also known as the Feast of San Clemente, is celebrated every November 23 in the town of Angono, Rizal

Niyogyugan Festival (Lucena City)


The festival, derived from “niyog” (coconut) and “yugyog” (move to a fast beat), began in August 2011 and

tourism.
MAJOR CULTURAL GROUPS
The major cultural groups in CALABARZON are Negritos or Agtas and the Tagalog.

LANGUAGE & DIALECTS


The main languages spoken are Tagalog, Chabacano, and English. Due to the province's proximity to Metro Manila large
number of people migrated to Cavite from farther provinces, resulting in a significant usage of Bikol, Cebuano and
Ilokano
REGION 4B- MIMAROPA
FOOD AND DELICACIES
Region IV-B, or MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque,
Romblon, Palawan), offers a delightful array of traditional
Filipino dishes and unique delicacies, often influenced by
the region's abundant seafood and agriculture. Here are
some of the delicious foods and delicacies you can savor in
MIMAROPA:
KINILAW
A dish made with fresh fish or seafood, typically
marinated in vinegar or calamansi (a local citrus fruit) juice,
and garnished with onions, chili, and sometimes coconut
milk.

CURACHA
This unique crab is a specialty in Zamboanga City, but it
can also be found in parts of MIMAROPA. It's often cooked
in garlic butter sauce and served with rice.

INASAL NA PUSIT
Grilled squid, often marinated in a mixture of vinegar,
soy sauce, and spices, giving it a delightful smoky and tangy
flavor.

LAMBANOG
This is a traditional Filipino coconut wine. While it's not a food, it's a notable regional beverage and is often used in
culinary preparations.

CASHEW NUTS
Palawan is famous for its cashew nuts. You can find a variety of cashew-based products, from plain roasted cashews to
flavored and candied ones.

ARROWROOT COOKIES
A specialty of Romblon, these cookies are made from arrowroot flour and are known for their unique texture and flavor.
