Air circulation is essential so do not washed greens
too tightly or packed firmly. Refrigerate in colanders
covered with clean damp towels, or in specially
designed perforated plastic bins. These protect
from drying while allowing air circulation.
Vegetable grain legumes and pasta salads are
nutritious and delicious dishes made with a
combination of vegetables, grains (such as rice or
quinoa), legumes (such as beans or lentils), and pasta.
They are often mixed together with various seasonings,
dressings, and toppings to create a flavorful and
satisfying meal.
Bound salads are held together with a binding agent
like mayonnaise or a thick dressing. They look a bit
different than traditional composed or tossed salads, as
vegetables aren't a requirement. This is a kind of salad
you'll often find at traditional picnics or potlucks.

The term bound is most often used for traditional

mixtures of cooked protein, starch and vegetables items
with mayonnaise like chicken salad, tuna salad, egg
salad and potato salad. It contain fruits as their main
ingredients, like appetizer salads or dessert salads.
Fruit salad is a general term reffering to a fruit dish.

The typical Filipino fruit salad is composed of

canned fruit cocktail combined with condensed
milk and table cream. However, there are also some
versions wherein buko or young coconut is added
(this should not be mistaken as the buko salad
wherein young coconut is exclusively used).
In a composed salad, various ingredients are arranged
on a serving platter or plates with the salad dressing
drizzled on top or served on the side.

From the French “salade composée,” a composed salad

is simply salad arranged on a plate rather than tossed
in a bowl.
Gelatin Salad are those usually prepared with artificial
color and flavour. Note that most professional cook
prefer the unflavoured gelatine relying on the natural
juice of fruits and other ingredients used.

Therefore, it has a "salad appearance" (small pieces of

food) although it is held firm in gelatin (like aspic).
