Yesterday, we visited My Son Sanctuary in Quang Nam, one of the most historic sites in Vietnam as well as Southeast Asia. My Son Sanctuary is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built from the 4" centuryto the 13" century CE. The site is located in a picturesque valley surrounded by high mountains in Quang Nam and.near the start of the Thu Bén River. The site has a collection of at least 70 ruined Hindu temples that the Cham built to worship their gods. We arrived at My Sonat around 7a.m., had breakfast andthen began exploring the historic temples. Some of them had some amazing statues of Hindu gods. | was mostly impressed by the good condition of the temple walls. Most wall bricks are over 1,000 years old but still beautifully red. We took lots of photos and made some clips of the temples. J also learn a lot about the historical values of the site from a local tour guide, We heard about Cham peoples history, watched @ Cham performance with dancing and live music. We also rented some traditional Cham costumes. | looked quite funny in them, but I kind of enjoyed it. It was so much fun! I bought some souvenirs on the site. | can't wait to give them to my family.
