12 SECRETS TO SUCCEED IN CHRISTIAN SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Good day my brothers and sisters. Today by the grace of God Almighty, I intend to introduce to you
12 Secrets that can enable a Christian achieve victory in spiritual warfare.

Maybe you are wondering why I am talking of warfare when there is no visible war on the horizon,
due to the fact that war is usually something violent..The truth is, that from the day we were all born
into this world till now; we have been participants in an ongoing war without our consent. We have
either been passive or inactive fighters or active fighters in what is called the great eternal war. This
eternal war has been going on for very long between the forces / armies of God that are led by Jesus
Christ, and the forces/armies of Darkness which are led by the Devil.

This war has been on since the time that the Almighty God commanded that Lucifer, the former
morning Star and his fellow rebellious angels should be cast out of Heaven because Lucifer wanted
to proclaim himself a god in heaven and be worshiped just like the Most High God. This event is
recorded in the Bible, in the book of Revelations chapter 12 verses 7 - 12, and Isaiah chapter 14
verses 12 - 15.

Upon being cast out of Heaven, some of these rebellious forces took camp in several places outside
heaven. Some came to planet earth and dwelt in the mountains, forests, rivers, seas ; towns,
villages, communities, nations, continents, etc. Some took residence in the atmospheres, the space
above the earth; some in other planets, and even more higher realms in space. Some even took
ownership of families and individuals, and proclaimed themselves gods/goddesses, husbands/wives
of such families and individuals. Collectively they are all referred to as principalities, powers, rulers
of darkness in the world; and spiritual wickedness in high places as we can find in the book of
Ephesians chapter 6 verse 12.

These rebellious angels took a decision that since they cannot defeat God or have their way in
heaven, they would establish their kingdom on earth and destroy God’s most priced possession,
which is man that He has created. That is why the Bible accounts in the book of Revelations 12 verse
12:

“Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and
of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he
hath but a short time.”

Since the time that he was cast out of heaven, the devil has been working tirelessly to render man
useless before God because he knows that man is so dear to the heart of God. The Bible reveals this
to us in Psalm 8 verses 4 - 6:

“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou
hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou
madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:”

This is the reason why the devil began with Adam and Eve, and has since been in the business of
making men unprofitable before God. The devil’s aim is so that God will likewise destroy man in hell
fire as God has foretold would happen to the devil and his rebellious angels. The Bible reveals this
future punishment of the devil in Revelations 20 verse 10:
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast
and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”

Verse 15 of the same Revelations 20 says:

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

My brothers and sisters, you now know the destiny of the devil and his angels, and the future of as
many human beings that the devil can successfully render unprofitable before God. Do you want to
suffer or enjoy on earth and burn in hell fire forever?

God Himself has helped to answer this question for you and I, out of His own mercy. He has told us
that He does not want anyone to be unprofitable, or end up in hell fire. That is why the bible says in
John 3 verse 16: “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

Jesus has also answered this question for us in John 10 verse 10 when He said that: “The thief (the
devil and his agents) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they
might have life, and that they might have it abundantly “.

The power to live the God-ordained life on earth, and experience everlasting life with God in heaven;
Jesus has assured us, is available and accessible to everyone that will receive Him. He says this in the
book of John chapter 1 verse 12. The bible says there: “But as many as received Him, to them gave
He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name”.

People of God, Jesus Christ through His life on earth has proved to us that both Himself and every
other person that will surrender to God by accepting Him are superior, and have greater power over
the devil and his wicked forces. He reveals this as well by His resurrection from the grave, and
ascension into heaven. In fact, the bible accounts in the book of Ephesians chapter 1 verses 21 to 22
that Jesus is presently seated at God’s right hand in the heavenly places “Far above all principality,
and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but
also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head
over all things to the church (the church here, refers to you, me, and all that believe in Jesus’ name)”.

Brethren the bible further accounts in the same book of Ephesians chapter 2 that we unbelievers
were once under the control and influence of the prince of the power of the air (Lucifer); but having
given our lives to Christ, when we got baptized, we died with Him, symbolically; and when Christ
arose, we were raised up together with Him, and are now seated together with Jesus Christ (if we
are true Christians), at the same right hand of God, in heavenly places, far above the influence and
authority of all the powers of wickedness.

As proofs of this statement, the bible says firstly in the book of Ephesians chapter 1 verses 13 to 14
that after our conversion, we were sealed with the Holy Ghost as the sign of our first inheritance in
God, until we will enter into heaven.

Secondly, because we are now in Christ, the book of second Corinthians chapter 5 verse 17 says
concerning us that we have become new creatures in the sight of God; our old self, our old life has
passed away.
Thirdly, the book of Romans chapter 8 verse 15 says concerning us that we have now received a new
spirit of freedom, and have gained victory over the powers of wickedness at least potentially,
because we have now become sons and daughters of God. For this reason therefore, we have now
earned the right to call God ‘abba Father’ (my Father) in conversation and in prayer.

When we consider the lives of the 12 disciples (the apostles) and the early Christians, we will
discover that they demonstrated these proofs listed above and other proofs not listed here in their
execution of spiritual authority over the forces of darkness in their Christian life and ministry while
spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. This authority and newness of life in Christ has also been
demonstrated by numerous Christians not recorded in the bible, that came after the apostles as we
would find if we do a little research. In fact till date, there are still so many Christians around us,
demonstrating this authority and new life thanks to the Holy Ghost. Congratulations to you and me
then because it is still possible for us to gain this power and authority today, if we desire it, seek it,
and choose to make good use of it.

However, this power and authority has been given to us to enable us overcome the forces of evil and
gain the upper hand over the whole devices of the wicked ones as found in Luke.10.19 - “Behold, I
give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and
nothing shall by any means hurt you.”. This is because, we are always in warfare with them as
children of God. And so, all the Christians that came before us were all engaged in the same warfare
with the devil and his wicked forces. By the special grace of God, they were successful and
victorious; and that is why the gospel has been successfully spread to numerous parts of the world
today.

But what about you and I?

O yes, these forces are still out to destroy us. They are still out to ensure that we do not live well on
earth. They want us to bow down to them, to serve them, to worship them, before they can allow
us to enjoy the good things that God has created in this world for his children to make use of while
on earth. You saw how the devil tempted Jesus in Matthew chapter 4 verses 1 to 11.

Brethren, the reason we are worried today in this country about how we will survive, or what we
and our loved ones will eat is because of these same powers. They are out to prove that we cannot
remain honest and be successful, that we cannot remain faithful to our wives and husbands and be
happy. They want to stress that we cannot continue to preach the truth as pastors and Christians
and become/remain rich or wealthy. It is all false; they simply want men to choose the easy way out.
They want us to steal, do yahoo, commit fornication, adultery, murder, etc. They want us to go
against God’s commandments and be cast away at the end of our lives. That is why they have
hijacked the leaders of our country, states, LGAs; our communities, our places of employment, and
so on; with one addictive sin or the other, to force them to do their wishes and make life difficult for
the people in that church, community, state, country etc. This is so that the people will out of
anguish and desperation, give up on God, and turn to them instead of God for salvation from their
difficulties.

For this singular reason then, Jesus tells us that we must watch and pray in Matthew 26 verse 41, to
keep ourselves from falling into their temptations. The apostle Peter tells us in 1 Peter 5 verse 8 that
the devil is out always looking for whom to destroy. In fact, apostle Paul says in Ephesians chapter 6
verse 13 that we should take unto us the whole Armour of God, so that we would be able to
withstand the enemy in the evil day; and stand firm throughout our time on earth.

Brethren, are you finding it hard to remain steadfast? Are you about to give in to that pressure to
renounce your faith and belief in Jesus, to have it easier in life? Have you turned from God
already? Are you praying without any meaningful success?

There is a way out for you.

I say, that by the grace that God has already given; there is a way out for all of us in Jesus Mighty
Name.

By the special grace of God,

I will be sharing below,

12 SECRETS TO EMERGING VICTORIOUS IN CHRISTIAN SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Remember the bible says in Ephesians chapter 6 verse 12 that our battle is not with that man,
woman, boy, or girl; it is not with our aunt, uncle, or friend; it is not with our president, our
governor, chairman, etc. It is not with these individuals or groups, irrespective of whether we think
so, have seen them in a dream; whether we were told by someone that they are the people
oppressing us, or even if we have seen them attacking us physically. Our enemies are spiritual forces,
and our battle is with the spiritual forces of wickedness at so many levels under so many names.
They are the powers that are backing that person that you see, are seeing or know. Remove those
forces spiritually, and that person will be rendered impotent, powerless, or even completely repent
and be transformed back to the family of God.

As Christians, we should not pray for the death or destruction of our fellowmen. It is not the will of
God for them to perish but the will of the devil concerning them. Jesus Christ our savior and leader
gives us an example of this doctrine in Luke chapter 9 verses 51 to 56. He says: “ For the Son of man
is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.”God’s will, is for every sinner to repent from
their sins completely and be saved and not that they die in their sins and go to hell. He says this in
Isaiah chapter 1 verses 18 to 20; no matter your sins, come and I will forgive you. Jesus Himself says
the same in Matthew chapter 11 verses 28 to 30 - Come unto me, and I will give you rest.

Having clarified this,

how then should one wage spiritual wars to emerge victorious as a Christian?

1. KNOW THE COST

To know the cost in undertaking spiritual warfare means asking yourself whether or not you
are serious about winning the battle that you are about to fight head - on. That is, to know
what are the efforts, discipline, sacrifices and preparations that will be required of you. Jesus
tells us ahead that the battle though winnable is not going to be a piece of cake. He tells us
in Luke 14 verse 28: “ For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first,
and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?” Anyone who intends to
become an active participant in the war of good and evil must be ready to start, and
continue all the way till even after victory is achieved. Jesus however encourages us that
should we choose to engage the enemy, His grace will be sufficient for us, and that He will
be with us all through the way. See Matt. 28:20, 2 Cor. 12:9, Heb. 15:5, Isaiah 43:2; Psalm
34:7, 17 - 20; 1 Cor. 10:13.

2. UN-ENTANGLE YOURSELF

Anyone who loves worldly things very much; that cannot live without satisfying every desire
of the body, may find it impossible to successfully wage and win spiritual battles. In fact the
Bible says in 2 Timothy 2 verse 4 :”No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs
of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” The bible also
tells us the secret of success of some of the saints of God in the book of Revelations chapter
12 verse 11: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their
testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” To succeed in spiritual warfare,
we must learn how to withdraw inwards regularly by fasting, meditating on God’s Word, and
withdrawing from the pleasures of the world occasionally. See Deuteronomy 8:3, Matt. 6:25,
Matt. 4:4, Luke 4:4.

3. KNOW YOUR ENEMY

The bible tells us in the book of Ephesians chapter 6 verse 12 who our enemies are.
According to the bible, our enemies do not have flesh and blood. They are not humans like
us. Neither are they animals. They are spirits and things that we cannot see or touch. These
spirits have several classes that they belong to based on their hierarchy and place of
dominance. According to Ephesians chapter 6, our major enemies are:

a. Principalities: These are satanic spirits in charge of communities, villages, towns; particular
Rivers, seas, oceans; particular mountainous and desert places, etc. Examples are
community idols (Juju), Water spirits of certain Rivers, and so on. See Daniel 10:20.

b. Powers: These are spirits that belong to the classes of any of the four elements of air, water
earth and fire. They dwell in their home element, and are able to manipulate affairs that fall
within their elements. They are as follows:

i. The powers of the air: These are spirits that dwell in the atmosphere. They check
and monitor the influences of the heavenly bodies over the places of their
assignment. Their ruler is referred to as the prince of the power of the air. They
work to deny people in their jurisdiction or assignment list from accessing blessings
from above. See Ephesians chapter 2 verse 2, Daniel 10:13.

ii. The powers of water: These spirits dwell in water bodies. They check and monitor
blessings that make men and women to expand. They aim to cause dryness,
barrenness, addictions, delay and disappointment in the lives of the children of God
and all those that they have interest in. They try to resist these people and make
them believe that the only way they can be successful is if they turn to them for
help. Their rulers are the great whore, the queens of the coasts and leviathan. See
Rev. 17:1, Isaiah 27:1.

iii. The powers of the earth: These are spirits that dwell on, and under the ground.
They reside also in trees, forests, mountains, deserts, clefts, and valleys of the earth.
They fight industry, discipline, dedication, stability, etc. They make it difficult for
people to enjoy the fruits of their labours. They promote witchcraft in families and
communities. See Mk. 3:22, Isaiah 13:21, Isaiah 57:5.

iv. The powers of fire: These are elemental spirits that dwell in flames, and in fiery
places. Some are made of fire. An example we can find in the bible to support the
existence of these beings is found in the book of Ezekiel chapter 1 verse 13. Some of
us may also have heard of the creature called genie or jinn in Arabic or Muslim
tale/folklore. These powers can ignite fiery passions like restlessness, anxiety,
depression, anger, bitterness, rage, and unlawful cravings in their targets. They can
cause sexual perversions, disunity, mistrust, etc. See also, Numbers 21:6, Deut..
8:15, Jeremiah 32:35.

c. Rulers of the Darkness of this World: These are certain peculiar darkness’s associated with
this planet earth. They are a collection of forces that claim to control several vital aspects or
tools that humans require to live well or become the best version of their selves. Some of
these vital aspects or tools that humans require to make impact in this world are: money,
fame, influence, affluence, dominion, political power, immunity, control over one’s life and
others; magnetism, spiritual power, enlightenment, knowledge, social status, etc.

Just as the list is lengthy, there are numerous groups that exit in this world who claim to
exercise power over these tools or vital aspects of life. They also claim to have the capacity
to give these powers to those human beings who agree to become their members. Similarly,
they can also deprive those humans who are not in agreement with them of these vital
tools; especially where such people are not Christians or genuine children of God. Some
examples of groups that claim to have such powers are: witches and wizards, secret
societies, occult and mystical groups, etc. Some common names of such groups are: the
Illuminati, Freemasons, Ogboni fraternity, Amorc, Eckankar, HK, Brotherhood of the Cross
and Star, One love family (guru Maharaj), rasterfarism etc. These groups are in levels of 333,
666, 999, and so on. See Isaiah 28:15,18; Micah 2:1-2, Psalm 64:2-7, Psalm 59:2-17, etc.

d. Spiritual Wickedness in High Places: The class of evil classified as spiritual wickedness in
high places are spiritual beings that dwell in the spaces above the earth, and in other planets
outside the earth. They organize their kingdom in a way that human beings would believe
that they have entered into heaven if they willingly or unwillingly visit it in a dream, through
spirit summoning or out of body experience during astral projection, near death experience
or death. They forces claim to be ascended masters, avatars or the gods/goddesses that are
worshiped in several religions of the world. Beings from this class can appear to people as
Jesus, Angels of God, or even as God; and take them to visit this false heaven. In fact, some
people who claim to have been called by God, and are performing signs and wonders while
their practices are not in line with bible teachings; may have been called by beings from this
realm mimicking as God. See Ephesians 3:10, Matt. 24:29, Luke 21:26, etc.

e. The Weapons used by these enemies of man (Strongholds, Imaginations, Deceit,

Rebellion): In options ‘a to e ‘ above, we spoke briefly about the enemies that a man would
battle with in this world, especially those human beings that have chosen to become the
children of God. In wrestling with men, these principalities, powers, prince, and rulers of the
darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places rarely come to wrestle with us
openly or physically. In fact, most times, you would not even realize that they are doing
battle with you except God gives you the grace to realize it via dream, vision, revelation, etc.
These forces prefer to remain anonymous. That is, to fight and oppress you without letting
you know that they are there, or that they are the ones doing you harm. That is why, they
are able to do so much damage over a long time; sometimes dealing with or manipulating
people for months, years and so on; before the victim(s) would realize that there is
something wrong with his or her life. In fact, most people do not even realize that they have
lost so much to these enemies till they become born again, or grow old; that is if they do not
end up dying untimely. The bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 10 verses 4 and 5 that the weapons
which the enemy employs to do battle with us are strongholds, evil imaginations, deceit and
ungodly distractions, rebellious thoughts and sinful thoughts. To promote better
understanding, I will explain them briefly :

i. Strongholds: These are bondages, or evil yokes (spiritual prisons or evil load ) that
they create for people. They are most times spiritual prisons or burdens than
physical ones. These strongholds could be in the form of addictions, limitations,
idols, spirit spouses, familiar spirits, witchcraft, curses, etc.

ii. Evil Imaginations: These are evil wishes that the enemies imagine concerning their
victims or the evil things they desire to manifest in the life of their victims. They
come in the form of evil dreams, evil verdicts and decrees made concerning us in
the spirit realm. They could also be in the form of evil prophesies about us from the
kingdom of darkness, etc

iii. Deceit, false doctrines and ungodly distractions: Deceits meant here are lies, fake
promises and masks the enemy uses to get people to go the wrong way, to believe
whatever they say, and to do whatever they tell them. For example, they could tell
you that they are your spiritual guardian, wife/husband. That they can help you
become successful in life if you welcome/obey them. They could even appear to you
physically or in dreams as your loved one, local enemy; and even as Jesus or an
angel of God. See 2 cor.11:14, Matt. 7:15.

Using false doctrines, they teach men to believe in their selves rather than God.
They tell men that God’s commandments are what God is using to limit them from
reaching their true potential of becoming like God. They teach that there are
multiple ways to God; that there are multiple interpretation of the bible, and that
solutions/answers to prayers can come from several ways. They basically deceive
men with a wrong interpretation of the quote that man is made in the “image and
likeness of God” as found in Genesis chapter 1 verses 26 to 27. That as a result, man
is also a god who only needs to develop his potential goodness, and need not bow to
any other God, including the Almighty God. They essentially are trying to repeat
infinitely what they told Eve in Genesis chapter 3 verses 4 and 5 to as many men and
women as possible,to make them rebel against God.

Using ungodly distractions as a weapon, they seek to promote idolatry by making

money, certain ungodly but popular people (maybe musicians, actors/actresses,
leaders, professionals, etc) to trend nonstop. They also do this through
advertisements of movies, songs, products, etc on radio, TV, paper, the internet, etc.
They promote adultery, fornication, masturbation, etc through popularization of
nudity, pornography, etc. They promote violence, hatred, greed, avarice, dishonesty,
etc.

Basically, they make it such that men find it very difficult if not impossible to
overlook all of the above, and choose to study God’s word, obey it, and live as God
commands.

iv. Rebellious Thoughts: They teach men to simply try to do all they can to get what
they desire, and become what they wish; irrespective of the cost, whether it is
against God’s commandments, or if another human being would be negatively
affected by it or not. By so doing, they encourage men to practice witchcraft. That is,
to learn and make use of forceful or manipulative ways to get their desired
objectives. See 1 Sam. 15:23, Micah 2:1-2, etc.

4. KNOW THE SOURCE OF YOUR POWER, AUTHORITY, HOPE AND EXPECTATION

Realizing the host of enemies that men are in warfare with, especially considering the many
weapons accessible to the enemy, the average believer; and many elderly Christians would
be fearful and very worried if these enemies can really be defeated easily. The truth is that,
they can only be defeated easily when we understand that God alone is the source of our
power, authority, hope and expectation. Remember that Jesus tells us in John 15 verse 5
that without His help, we can do nothing. In fact, Psalms 144 verses 1 to 2 tells us that God
is the source of our strength; it is Him that can teach us how to fight and war with the
enemy. It is the voice of God coming through our mouths that can defeat the enemy. To
succeed therefore, we must learn to keep this in mind.See Isaiah chapter 30 verse 31.

5. KNOW AND ADMIT YOUR WEAKNESSES AND SHORTCOMINGS

The enemies that we are battling with can see our faults, sins, and weaknesses. For example,
they know if you are addicted to lust, anger, greed, etc. They know if you are praying,
studying the bible, obeying God’s word or not. They know if you are dishonest, stealing from
the office, telling lies always, etc. If you aim to engage these enemies in warfare prayers
without admitting your guilt, weaknesses and shortcomings before God, you will not be able
to overcome them, because they will use those sins/weaknesses as an excuse to disobey
your commands in prayer, and even use them against you, or as an excuse to attack you
during /after the prayers. See Psalm 66:18, Isaiah 59:1-4, Acts 19:13-19.
6. PLEAD FOR MERCY IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS

Having taken full cognizance of your sins/weaknesses, you must confess them in humility
before God. Remember that what is required to receive mercy from God is a contrite heart
(Psalm 50:17). A heart that has chosen to forsake his or her former ways (Isaiah 55:7). A
heart that understands that without God’s help we cannot achieve anything worthwhile
(Psalm 121:1, 2 Cor. 12:9). See also Psalm 86:, 1 John 1:9, Revelations 12:11.

7. PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD

Having asked God for mercy, the next step is to take up the whole Armour of God as
specified in the book of Ephesians chapter 6 verses 13 to 18.

1. Girt your lions with Truth: You must be sexually pure. No fornication, adultery. No
perverse sexual habit like masturbation, pornography, anal sex, lesbianism,
homosexuality, bestiality, etc. If you condone or practice any of these, the enemy
can defeat you through that region.

2. Wear the Breastplate of Righteousness: You must have a clean, free and clear
conscience. A conscience that is free from malice, deceit, arrogance, pride, greed,
anger, jealousy, etc. You must be upright, honest, humble and trustworthy. If you
have any weakness here, the enemy can defeat you through your conscience.

3. Shod your feet: You must be engaging in evangelism of the gospel of peace. That is
the gospel of Jesus Christ. You should have a readiness to assist with any task that
involves the advancement of the work of God or the message of God through Jesus
Christ. That is, swiftness, promptness, and sparing no thought or effort to spread the
gospel of Christ. If you are not evangelizing the word of God , the enemy can use this
loophole to resist, and or defeat you.

4. Hold the Shield of Faith: You must have an unshakable belief that the God whom
you serve has the power to protect and preserve His children. This is very vital. This
insurance that God provides is like a completely free protection that God offers all
His children which the devil also claim to offer to those who will follow him. The
difference is that God’s own is free, total and long lasting as long as you believe in
God’s capacity to cover you with it; while that of the devil is expensive, not total,
and unreliable.

5. Wear the Helmet of Salvation: This is the priceless and unmerited grace of God
upon all who accepts His beckon (call) through Jesus Christ. The helmet of salvation
automatically makes all our glasses half full. That is, insofar we have accepted Christ,
and are born again; God automatically grants us this cover over our heads, that
makes it impossible for the enemies to just take our lives, unless if they access other
weaknesses in our spiritual Armour. This is a sort of last resort for us.

6. Carry the Sword of the Spirit: This is the word of God. You can have all the other
Armour on your spiritual body, but if this is missing, you cannot do any real damage
to the enemy through attack in warfare. To successfully carry it, you must study it,
hear it, know it, obey it; you must live by it, speak it regularly, use it daily, and insist
on it as your only available weapon.

7. Be Prayerful: Being prayerful is the next addition in this armour. The best way to
understand the usefulness of this addition to the armour is to understand the
usefulness of your mobile phone to you or a satellite phone to a soldier, a navigator
or a sailor. Prayer does several vital things:

i. It creates a connection between you and God, and God’s assistance to you.
It is like an internet connection without which you cannot access the
internet to browse, do WhatsApp, download/upload etc. The same way
without prayer, you cannot send to, or receive from heaven.

ii. It is through prayer that we can make use of the armour of God, especially
the Sword of the Spirit when confronting the enemy in warfare.

iii. It is through prayer that we receive instructions from God’s Spirit on where
or how to fight/defeat the enemy in spiritual warfare (Psalm 144:1-2).

To be successful in spiritual warfare, we must maintain and remain in constant

communication with God through prayer, via thanksgiving , worship, praise,
interaction; and seeking counsel, and mercy as often as possible if not non-stop.

8. Be Vigilant:: Another word for being vigilant is watchfulness. Just like praying, you
must be vigilant even with your whole armour to spot quickly the direction the
enemy is coming from, and to detect quickly the tactics that the enemy is using to
attack you. In fact Jesus tells us to watch and pray always (Matt. 26:41, Mk. 13:33,
Mk14:38, Luke 21:36). You have to try to maintain constant alertness, mindfulness,
willfulness, cautiousness, diligence, wakefulness, and intercession. See 1 Peter 5:8,

8. WAR ACCORDING TO THE PROPHECIES CONCERNING YOU, AND THE DIRECTION OF THE
SPIRIT OF GOD.

In the process of active or defensive warfare, you should try to limit your commands or
words to the enemy to the judgments in the scripture. That is, instead of saying “I command
you to ........... “ say, by the authority given to me in Christ Jesus according to Psalm 91 verse
13 which says “Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon
shalt thou trample under feet.” I subdue and trample upon you now in Jesus Mighty Name.
Similarly, we could say, by the authority given to me in Christ Jesus according to Luke 10:19
“ Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power
of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” I subdue you and immobilize all
your devices towards me in Jesus Mighty Name. See also, Matt. 17:20, Matt. 21:21, Mk.
11:23, Matt. 16:19, Matt. 18:18, John 14:12, Luke 17:6, Job 22:28, Lam. 3:37, Philippians
2:10, etc.

If there are special prophecies that God has spoken concerning you both in the bible, and via
revelation, use them in prayer to resist the enemy. For example, “I shall be the head and
not the tail “(Deut. 28:13), etc. See also, Philippians 1:28, 1 Timothy 1:18-19, etc.
9. HAVE FAITH IN GOD

Your must have faith in God. If you do not believe that God is with you, and can defeat the
enemy through you, just like any of His child, you have failed yourself by your self already.
The enemy will detect this, and use it as an excuse to resist you. You must have faith in God.
See Habakkuk 2:4, 2 Cor . 5:7, Gal. 3:11, Hebrews 11:6, Hebrews 11:1, Mark 11:22 etc.

10. BELIEVE IN THE EFFICACY OF YOUR PRAYERS

Believe that your prayers are powerful. Believe that they are potent , and that they will not
return back to you empty. Believe that they will be effective. See Mk. 11:23, Isaiah 55:10-11,
Matthew 21:21-22.

11. KNOW THE OUTCOME BY FAITH

Claim victory in your heart by faith..See Acts 2:21, Matthew 21:21-22.

12. GLORIFY AND THANK GOD

You must give all the glory to God alone by testifying of His goodness, His help to you, and
His faithfulness. You must also thank Him for helping you to succeed. See Psalm 100:4,
Revelations 12:11.

I pray that God will give you victory in Jesus Mighty Name.
