1. INTRODUCTION

Mathematics is a core subject across levels and programs in the


Philippine education system. It is a discipline whose language is unique
and precise. It is a tool to one's daily life. Its importance to individuals
and the country's development is unquestionable, EB Ogena(2019).
However, mathematics under performance has become a perennial
concern which can prevent these developing countries.
II. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study will investigate the academic performance


of the grade 10 students during the third quarter period.
The study will look into the results of the test provided to
the Grade 10 Dove class in the third trimester. This will be
conducted in Lidlidda National High School of the Division
of Lidlidda Ilocos Sur during the SY-2022-2023.

Specially, the study will answer the following:


a. What is the frequency distribution of the score of
the Grade 10 Dove students in their score in
mathematics?
b. How many student passed the summative
examination, if the passing score belongs to the third
quarter?
c. What is the 5 docile and 95 percentile score of the
results and the summative examination of Grade 10
Dove class?
III. PRESENTATION OF DATA

The scores of Grade 10 Dove in summative Examination


are the following:

IV. DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION

The study used measures of position.


Third Quartile score:
Determine the position of the third quartile score
that is:

Position of Q3 class = = = = 28.5
4 4 4

This means we need to find a class interval where the 28.5


score is contained. Note that the 19th – 30th scores belong
to the 7-9 class interval, thus the 28.5" score also
contained therein.
