ICT is widely used these days. Information and data are growing exponentially as more than two
billion people now have access to the internet and 8 to 10 internet users own smartphones. ICT
has become essential to daily life as a result of its rapid growth. In addition to communication, or
reaching out to individuals near and distant, it has also improved and made work, and life,
easier.
Communication - Let’s start off with the key element of ICT, which is communication. With the
advent of ICT, communication-related tasks have become considerably simpler overall. Daily
communication improved in speed and effectiveness. People now communicate in entirely new
ways because of technology. Simple technologies that were once used for communication have
developed into means of connecting people all over the world.
Education - ICT is changing how the next generation learns by making learning resources
flexible and accessible to all pupils. All resources are accessible in the classroom, but students
can also use them outside of the institution. Those with learning difficulties or slow learners
particularly benefit from this. ICT helped the world cope during the pandemic and ease the lack
of academic resources during this time. With the use of ICT, students were able to attend online
classes and learn through it.
Entertainment - ICT offers a wide range of entertainment and leisure options that may be
conveniently accessible from the convenience of one's home. Direct streaming of movies and
music is possible over the Internet. ICT allows for the leisure activity of playing games online.
ICT items like memory cards and CDs can be used to store entertainment content for later use.
Through the development of better music and movie graphics, ICT has raised the caliber of
entertainment and leisure activities.
Socializing - Socializing and the development and usage of ICT in the communications sector
are almost identical. It might also be argued that the proliferation of social media sites like
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok made socializing in our society much
simpler. In short, the advent of ICT made socializing much simpler because people now use
said ICT to socialize by introducing themselves to online communities, finding partners or
friends online, exchanging information about virtually anything, sharing personal experiences,
and, of course, conversing with others about whatever they want.
