The Forbidden City is a very big palace in the center of Beijing, China,
It is so big that it has more than one thousand Tooms and it was almost
as big as an entire room.
The Forbidden City was home of many of China’s emperors. An
emperor is another name for a king. The Chinese emperor lived in the
city and ruled the people of China from the city.
For hundreds of years, China’s emperors lived inside the Forbidden
City. They rarely went outside the walls of the palace. Also, the people
China were not allowed to enter the great palace. This is how the palace
got its name the “Forbidden City”.
