Objective: I analyzed and corrected poorly written email pitches to identify common mistakes
and learn how to improve them into effective pitches:

Example 1

Dear [Joe],

My name is (name) and I work for (company name). I would greatly appreciate if you could
consider the press release below for publication in an upcoming issue, either on-line or in
print. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your
consideration.

Example 2

Dear FIRST NAME,


I represent a potato crisp brand that will be launching an exciting new contest on Monday with
a late-night TV host. Readers of your company can win big, including a chance to showcase
their comedic talents and a trip to NYC. Our brand is serious about not only taste, but blogger
relations as well, so prior to sending more details, our policy is to first ask for your opt-in. If
you would like more information, please let me know and I will send it to you Monday
morning. Please let me know if you would like to hear more. Thank you!

Stress, work, chores, and the availability of unhealthy food leave many people frustrated in
their desire to lost weight. The website “Lose Weight Naturally” provides information about
