Lesson 3

The human person is an embodied spirit with traits that define them as a person, including self-awareness, rationality, self-determination, externality, and dignity. The body and spirit are integrated and define the human person. As embodied spirits, humans can attach feelings and ideas to people and objects. Through embodiment, humans can uniquely experience and relate to the world, which defines them. While physically limited, humans can transcend limits through imagination, reflection, and perseverance.
