Diary Structure
Diary Structure
It can be an experience, memory, or something the writer has gone through that he or she keeps
as a record, a keeper of all the life events or experiences.
People can also write about their individual traits, likes, dislikes, and ways of life.
Use pronouns like I, my and me to show that the events happened to you.
Talk about how you were feeling or what you were thinking when each event happened.
An Outline of a Diary
The first part of a diary entry should have the day, date, and time of the entry. Next is the
salutation, where you can address the diary, followed by the main body. The last is the
signature of the writer.
Example
Dear Diary,
Today I feel like celebrating as I saw the first snowfall of the season.
The snow has covered the trees, rooftops, and vehicles. It has been snowing since morning.
Looking through the window, the snow appears extraordinarily beautiful. It is being cold, nut my
family and I are enjoying it. Mother has just served hot tomato soup this morning.
I am loving it!
