ACTIVITY # 1 (FINALS)

PREAMBLE
We, the sovereign Filipino people, imploring the aid of Almighty God, in order to build a just
and humane society, and establish a Government that shall embody our ideals and aspirations,
promote the common good, conserve and develop our patrimony, and secure to ourselves and our
posterity, the blessings of independence and democracy under the rule of law and a regime of
truth, justice, freedom, love, equality, and peace, do ordain and promulgate this Constitution.

Write your own understanding about the preamble of the 1987 Constitution.
In my own understanding, the Preamble of the Philippine Constitutions serves as an
introduction, giving us a glimpse of how our laws were created and the underlying ideas that
underpin them. It addresses the goals and objectives of constitution to Filipino people. As I read
the first phrases, “God” is mentioned in the beginning of the permeable which I believe it is a
good thing because the law-makers of the preamble are asking for God’s guidance despite the
separation of the state and church. Second, it provides that we should establish a government
which shall promote good in different way such as to people, nature, and any forms within the
nation. Third, no person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law,
now shall any person be denied the equal protection of the laws. The constitutions are ruled of
law that is not biased, injustice system, harm, and doesn’t look for economic level, raise, color,
culture, religion, and etc.
