Introduction

The landscapes of learning and government are changing as a result of the revolutionary

opportunities presented by artificial intelligence (AI). As we go through the 21st century, the

promise of artificial intelligence to improve education and the grid becomes clearer by the day

(Cliburn, 2022). Whether it's chatbots powered by artificial intelligence (AI) assisting students

on their educational journeys or intelligent algorithms improving electricity grids, the effects of

AI are everywhere (Kooli, 2023). Within the realm of education, AI-powered tools have the

capacity to analyze individual learning patterns, offering tailored content and assessments that

cater to each student's needs (Wu, 2012). Our goal as we dive into these papers is to understand

the nuances of AI's incorporation and its effects on these crucial industries. This review's

overarching goal is to stress the significance of ethical AI deployment while also showcasing the

exciting potential AI has for improving our educational and energy infrastructure.

Universities Embrace AI to Support Students

Cliburn's "Universities Embrace Artificial Intelligence to Support Students" (2022)

delves at the ways in which educational institutions are increasingly using AI to aid their student

bodies. The paper highlights how AI chatbots may be used as adaptable virtual assistants at

universities. Chatbots like this are becoming more important in the education sector as a means

of conveying information to students about a variety of issues, including campus services and

enrollment statistics (Cliburn, 2022). Cliburn (2020) uses examples from UNLV, GSU, and Elon

University to highlight the usefulness of AI chatbots in higher education. The essay focuses on

the benefits that AI might provide to students who are the first in their family to attend college or

who come from low-income backgrounds (Cliburn, 2022).

3

Cliburn's paper also does not avoid touching on serious ethical issues connected to the

use of AI in classrooms. The safety of private data and the elimination of bias in AI systems are

highlighted as two of the most important ethical concerns. With AI collecting and processing

even more data, protecting students' personal details and privacy is more important than ever.

Another major worry is that AI might help spread prejudice and bigotry. To guarantee its

incorporation into higher education settings is both responsible and egalitarian, Cliburn's piece

emphasizes the need of addressing AI technology with ethical issues in mind.

Applications of AI in Modern Power Systems

Integrating renewable energy sources, power electronic devices, and variable loads with

current power systems has created substantial new obstacles. The growing complexity and

unpredictability of electricity production and delivery is the root cause of these difficulties (Hu et

al., 2020). These complex and ever-changing systems have proven difficult for traditional model-

based techniques to handle. In this respect, artificial intelligence (AI) becomes crucial. Hu et al.

(2020) argue that AI is a viable option since it provides data-driven solutions that can adjust to

the dynamic nature of the power grid. Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to learn from

the massive volumes of data produced by power systems, enabling it to understand complex

correlations and patterns that may defy traditional modeling methodologies (Hu et al., 2020).

There are a wide variety of ways that AI may be used in today's power grids. Problems

with the electrical grid that may be solved by using AI techniques include voltage regulation,

transient stability analysis, and maximum power point tracking (Haenlein & Kaplan, 2019).

These methods improve and automate crucial operations in power systems by using the

capabilities of AI algorithms like neural networks, deep learning, and reinforcement learning

(Haenlein & Kaplan, 2019). By forecasting and reducing voltage fluctuations, AI may improve
4

voltage regulation and thereby grid stability. Power production and distribution may be

optimized, making them more efficient and adaptable to changes in supply and demand. In

addition, AI provides real-time analysis of power system data, which leads to quicker decisions

and preventative actions in the event of problems (Haenlein & Kaplan, 2019), which in turn

leads to a more dependable and robust power infrastructure. The use of AI in today's power grids

not only solves immediate problems, but also prepares the energy sector for a brighter, more

sustainable future.

AI as a Booster of Future Power Systems

In his paper "AI as a Booster of Future Power Systems" (2023), Tiago Pinto explores the

far-reaching implications that AI will have on the evolution of future power grids and energy

distribution systems. With the increasing incorporation of renewable energy sources, the paper

stresses the need for a radical reevaluation of the status quo of energy system practices. The

importance of consumers' involvement in this dynamic energy market is also emphasized. When

applied to the problems associated with the integration of renewable energy sources, AI proves to

be a game-changer (Pinto, 2023) by giving novel solutions. The capacity of AI to lessen worries

about the reliability of renewable energy sources is an important contribution. Artificial

intelligence (AI) may improve grid management and resource allocation by increasing the

precision of energy production projections using cutting-edge predictive algorithms. In addition,

AI enables demand-side management by optimizing energy consumption patterns, which is both

efficient and sustainable (Pinto, 2023) due to AI's involvement.

Pinto (2023) provides important new understandings of the power sector's continuous

transition. From power outages to energy resource projections and grid upgrade planning, it

demonstrates the multidisciplinary nature of AI's involvement in tackling power sector concerns.
5

Pinto adds to the discussion of AI's disruptive potential in the energy sector by highlighting the

central role of AI. To stay up with the changing environment of future power systems, the essay

not only emphasizes the potential but also advocates for more study and development. AI

presents both benefits and difficulties, and this paper highlights the necessity for a holistic

strategy that blends technical innovation with responsible deployment (Pinto, 2023) to address

both. By doing so, Pinto's research contributes to the continuing conversation regarding AI's

revolutionary role in creating future power grids, providing useful insights for researchers,

industry experts, and policymakers (2023).

Conclusion

This literature review has provided important insight into how AI is reshaping the

political and educational landscape. It's clear that AI chatbots, delivering individualized support

and direction, are changing the way college students get the knowledge and help they need.

Concurrently, AI is enhancing grid stability, energy resource forecasting, and efficiency by

responding to the complex issues of contemporary power systems via the use of data-driven

approaches. However, as AI develops further, it raises ethical considerations that must be

carefully considered, such as data privacy and algorithmic prejudice. The papers discussed here

stress the need of a well-rounded strategy for AI integration in various fields, one that takes into

account both creative freedom and social accountability. To realize AI's full potential, they

advocate for continued study and development alongside the promotion of universal access and

ethical use. To secure a sustainable and fair future in an AI-driven education and power system, it

is crucial that stakeholders give equal weight to technology advances and ethical issues.
