Lesson 1

Identifying Yourself

Analysis: Answer briefly the following questions below in the space provided.

1. What have you learned in the mind map of JC?


- I have learned in JC’s mind map by using the importance of prepositions appropriately to create a
sentence effectively and completely. In addition, not only to create a sentence well perhaps the various
uses and functions of prepositions on the sentences.

2. How do you define strengths and weaknesses based on JC’s mind map?
- I could define the strength and weaknesses based on JC’s mind map basically; it refers from within the
self of a person. The qualities, skills and abilities of a certain individual on where he/she are capable or
not capable of doing something according to its ability.

Application:

Instruction: Draw a mind map similar to JC’s showing your strengths and weaknesses. You may add many bubbles
you like and try to use the following phrases.

Lesson 2: Describing Qualifications
Activity: Instruction: Practice and try to complete the sentences using the prepositions: in, at, from or with.

1. I started my career in Industrial Food Corporation after graduating at Davao del Sur State College with a
Bachelor’s degree major in Enterprise Management.
2. I also obtained a BSc in Computer Science at Ateneo de University in 2017.
3. I read Modern Languages and Historical events at The National Library of Manila.

Analysis: Instruction: Answer briefly the question below in the space provided.

 What qualifications do you have?


 I am a degree holder of Bachelor in Secondary Education major in TLE graduated at Davao del Sur
State College. Before I started my schooling at DSSC, I am also an NC2 passer in Computer
Programming and finished my vocational course at Southern Mindanao Computer College.
Moreover, I worked at Yamada Technology Inc. as a computer graphics designer for five years.

Application: Instruction: Answer the following:

1. List at least 5 positions that you think you are qualified which is related to your academic qualification.
 Teacher, Cook, Computer graphics designer, entrepreneur, marketing.

2. Out from the 5 positions, what you most likely to be your position in the future? Explain why?
 In the near future my position would be an entrepreneur. I would like to own a business that suits
with my qualifications. As a TLE student, I’ve learned in so many areas being taught us. My soon to
be business will evolve in the areas where I am comfortable with like computers, I can also teach
some of my knowledge to people who needs assistance.

3. What are the tasks that best describe to the position you wanted to have in the near future?
 As an entrepreneur, I am the holder of my own task. But of course, owning a business means you
have to do the task alone or hire an employee. My tasks includes the safety of my business, safety of
the products I sell, and also, hiring hardworking and responsible employees.

 The skills I have are computer skills, communication skills, management skills, active listening skills,
and problem-solving skills.

 What competencies do you have?


 The competencies I have are leadership, flexible, communication to others, responsibility,
adaptability, focus and integrity.

 What experiences do you have towards work?


 The experiences I have are being a graphics designer for a long time, inventory clerk, and also to be
able to repair some of computer damages.

 The skills I have are computer skills, communication skills, time management skills, active listening
skills, and problem-solving skills.

2. Out from the 5 skills, what most likely skills fit in the degree you earned? And explain why these skills are
important?
 The skill that mostly fit in the degree that I earned is communication skills and management skills.
These skills are important because as a TLE teacher, there are so many areas that need to be
learned. Managing the time in each area should be the first skill you have to do. Also, managing time
as a teacher and as an entrepreneur is the best thing to do. Moreover, a communication skill is
important too. Communicating to students and other colleagues is important and also to your
buyers as an entrepreneur.
