Explain the importance of four management process: Planning, Organizing, Directing, and
Controlling?
Situate yourself as future entrepreneur, give some characteristics, that we already
discussed?
As for me, and based on what I’ve understand, Planning, Organizing, Directing, and
Controlling are the vital forces of an enterprise and is determinant for a business to become
success or failure. And based on what I’ve learned way back when we are still first year, it also
involves the performance of conceiving and achieving desired results by means of group effort
consisting of utilizing human desired results by means of group effort consisting of utilizing
human talents and resources.
Planning, Organizing, Directing, and Controlling is very important management process
because it is a systemic method of gathering and analyzing facts and formulates general laws or
principles from these facts.
Let’s start on Planning, according to our FBM1 planning is an important process in
management because in general it refers to the formulation of objectives, programs, policies,
procedures, rules and regulations in order to achieve the goal of the business. Based on what I’ve
understand planning is a fundamental aspect of the management process because it helps
organizations chart a course for success, allocate resources wisely, make informed decisions, and
adapt to changing circumstances. It's the foundation upon which other management functions,
such as organizing, directing, and controlling, are built. Second is Organizing, it is important
because it is the process of making sure the necessary human and physical resources are
available to carry out a plan and achieve organizational goals. Next is Directing, sometimes we
are used to disregard this part of management but for me, it is a crucial element of the
management process because it involves guiding and influencing employees to work effectively
toward achieving the organization's goals. It focuses on human interactions and motivation
within the organization. Lastly Controlling, it the process of measuring and correcting the
activities of subordinates and the company itself to assure consistency to plans. It is important
because it provides a process for identifying and addressing issues, maintaining accountability,
and driving continuous improvement within the organization.
I will situate myself as an owner or clothing line, and I will assume that I want to
effectively implement these management functions, I will direct challenges, optimize resources,
and successfully deliver high-quality products to my customers while staying aligned with my
business goals.
Planning: I will begin by setting clear objectives for my clothing line, such as introducing
a new collection for the upcoming season. I formulate a comprehensive plan that includes
designing the collection, selecting fabrics, determining production quantities, and setting a
marketing strategy to reach my target audience.
Organizing: To bring my plan to life, I organize the necessary resources. This involves
coordinating with designers, manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors. I ensure that the right
people and materials are available at the right time to create a seamless production process.
Directing: Directing in my clothing line involves guiding my team towards a common
goal. I communicate the vision for the new collection, inspire my designers to innovate, and
motivate my production team to maintain quality standards. Through effective communication, I
create a collaborative environment that fosters creativity and productivity.
Controlling: As the collection production progresses, I closely monitor each stage. I
compare the actual progress with the planned milestones. If any deviations occur, such as delays
in production or quality issues, I take fast corrective actions. This could involve reallocating
resources, adjusting production schedules, or improving quality control measures.
