Upgrading Cimplicity 6.1 To 8.1 License Issue

Charlie is upgrading a Cimplicity project from version 6.1 to 8.1 on a new server. When the 6.1 project was converted to 8.1 and started on the new server, it only had a 2-hour license even though the new server has a licensed 8.1 version. Charlie is unsure if the 8.1 license only applies to new projects or if the 6.1 license needs to be transferred to the new server for the upgraded project.

Upgrading Cimplicity 6.1 to 8.1 License Issue

We are upgrading a Cimplicity 6.1 project to 8.1. We have a licensed 8.1 version on a new server and when we copied the 6.1 project
into the 8.1 version it asked if we wanted to convert it 8.1. Yes, we did the conversion, However, when the project started, we only had
a 2-hour license. Is the 8.1 version only good for a "new" project? or what is the protocol for this type of upgrade/conversion?

Thanks,

Charlie

This issue was resolved. Someone had installed a demo version of Cimplicity 9.0 and even though the project converted from
6.1 to 9.0 the license was for 8.1 hence the invalid base license.

The License information is from the new server, When the Cimplicity project was copied to the new server, upgraded and
started, this is the error. I did not move or transfer the running (6.1) project license to the new server as we need to test our
device communications. We shut one project down and start the other for testing. I'm not sure if the 6.1 license has to be
moved to the new server?

Thanks - Charlie

I don't think there is a difference between a new project and an upgraded project.

Open the project in the new version and confirm for the conversion to the newer Cimplicity version should be right.
When you start the project, do you get the message that cimplicity does not have a valid base license? if so, the problem is
probably that there is something wrong with the license
