Read about the present perfect continuous. Then complete the sentences with
the present perfect continuous form of the verb in parentheses. For negative
forms, use contractions (haven't or hasn't).
Use the present perfect continuous for actions that began in the past and continue up to the present
time. These actions may continue into the future.
To form the present perfect continuous, use have or has + been + the verb + -ing.
Sarah has not been watching TV since 9 p.m. = Sarah hasn't been watching TV since 9 p.m.
We have not been studying for a long time. = We haven't been studying for a long time.
To form a question, put the subject after have/has and before been.
For some action verbs (for example, study, work, live), either the present perfect or present perfect
continuous can be used. Do not use the present perfect continuous for states. For verbs that represent
states, such as be, have, think, own, love, hate, and know, use the present perfect.
