Scientific Law
A scientific law is a concise and universally applicable statement that describes a consistent and
fundamental relationship observed in nature. Unlike scientific theories, which aim to explain the
underlying mechanisms or reasons behind phenomena, scientific laws simply state what consistently
happens under certain conditions. Laws are derived from repeated experimental observations and have
broad predictive power within a specific domain. They serve as fundamental principles that
summarize empirical regularities and are considered foundational in the scientific understanding of
natural phenomena. Examples of scientific laws include Newton's laws of motion and Kepler's laws of
planetary motion, both of which succinctly describe the behavior of physical objects in specific
situations, forming the basis for classical mechanics and celestial mechanics, respectively.
