Today I would love to share with you a person who was a source of inspiration for me
to take up such a fascinating pastime, which is planting flowers.
As for who this person is, the first one that pops up in my mind is my highschool
teacher, who was also my mentor and adviser back in highschool time.
In terms of how I got to know this person, if my memory serves me well, it was a
scorching hot morning in early May, a couple of years ago. At the time, I had to
buckle down and do all the revisions to pass my final exam with flying colours in
order to enter a prestigious highschool in my city. Yet I felt myself burned out by the
heavy workload and made up my mind to come to the student consulting service in
my school to ask for help. And Ms. L was my advisor at that time.
About the interesting thing I tried, Ms. L advised me that I could get closer to nature
as a means to unwind. After figuring out that her house is just within walking
distance from where I live, she recommended that I visit her garden once a week to
water and take care of the flowers there.
Regarding how she motivated me to take up this new hobby, she invited me to her
garden every Sunday morning to immerse myself into the fresh atmosphere and
taught me how to plant them properly. There are actually all kinds of flowers grown
in her garden, ranging from those that are easy-cared like roses, daisies to orchids,
which requires great care and complex gardening methods. Yet as my teacher has a
green thumb, her flowers are all healthy and bloom beautifully.
Today I would love to share with you a person who is a big fan of planting,
particularly nurturing flowers.
As for who this person is, the first one that pops up in my mind is my highschool
English teacher, who was also my mentor and adviser back in highschool time.
In terms of the types of plant she grows, there are actually all kinds of flowers grown
in her garden, ranging from those that are easy-cared like roses, daisies to orchids,
which requires great care and complex gardening methods. Yet as my teacher has a
green thumb, her flowers are all healthy and bloom beautifully.
As I mentioned before, she grows all her flowers in the back garden of her four-
storey house which is just a walking distance away from where I live.
Regarding the reasons behind her love for planting, as far as I know, it originates
from her love for nature and a desire to get closer to nature. This motivates her to
design and grow her own garden so that everyday she can immerse herself into the
fresh atmosphere. The second driver is probably her aptitude for taking care of
flowers.
