Conditional Sentence Type 2

1. If + simple past, present conditional


2. Present conditional + if + simple past

Fact : use Simple Present

Contoh:

1. If I lived in Seoul, tonight I would go to that concert.


2. I would play roller coaster every day if I owned a theme park.

Conditional Sentence Type 3

1. If + past perfect, perfect conditional


2. Perfect conditional + if + past perfect

Fact : Use simple past tense


Contoh:
1. If I had left my house earlier, I wouldn’t have missed the
train.
2. If she had called me yesterday, I would have been happy.

Part 1A (In pairs, choose 5 sentences below then change them into conditional
sentences)
1. If you ( tell) me you needed a ride, I would have left earlier.
2. If I (clean) the house, I could have gone to the movies.
Type 3 = if I had cleaned the house, I could have gone to the movies.
3. If you set your mind to a goal, you ( achieve ) it.
Type 2 = if you set your mind to a goal, you would achieve it
4. If I (lock) my car, the thief wouldn't have stolen my car.
Type 3= if I had locked my car, the thief wouldn’t have stolen my car
5. If I were you, I ( continue ) my study.
Type 2 = if I were you, I would continue my study
6. If I had time, I (go) with you.
Type 3= if I had time, I would have gone with you
7. If I had locked the car, the thief (not steal ) my car.
Type 3= if I had locked my car, the thief wouldn’t have stolen my car
8. If she met her mother, she (be ) very happy.
Type 2= if she met her mother, she would be very happy
9. If she hadn't taken the course, she (not get ) the scholarship.
Type 3 = if she hadn’t taken the course, she wouldn’t have got the scholarship
10. If it rained tomorrow, I (sleep) all day.
Type 2= if it rained tomorrow, I would sleep all day
11. If I were you, I (tell) him the truth.
Type 2 = if I were you, I would tell him the truth

of the verbs are passive.
