CSI Computer Society of India

CSI, Computer society of India is the first and

largest body of computer professionals in India.
It was started on 6 March 1965 by a few
computer professionals and has now grown to
be the national body representing computer
professionals.

The Computer Society of India is a non- profit

professional meet to exchange views,
information, learn and share ideas. The main
objective of CSI is to provide a platform for
students to enhance their skills through
different innovative events related to computer
science and technology. The Society also
encourages and assists the students to maintain
integrity and competence and fosters a
partnership amongst members. Sense of
G Pulla Reddy Engineering College has started
CSI Student Branch in the year 2004. In the
beginning of the every academic year a
committee is formed with the student and
faculty advisor for conducting weekly activities
during the entire year. For this Dr.K Ishthaq
Ahamed, Associate Professor in CSE nominated
as the student branch coordinator. At the end of
each academic year certificates will be
distributed to the winners in the various
activities. In addition to this, the CSE
department will organize a national level
technical symposium (Aavishkar) once in three
year under CSI student branch.

IEEE

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics

Engineers (IEEE) is an organization dedicated to
advancing innovation and technological
excellence. The primary purpose of IEEE is to
inspire, enable, empower and energize the
student members to enhance their technical
interests by providing them a platform to
showcase their skills and foster technological
innovation and excellence for the benefit of
humanity.

IEEE GPREC Student Branch was formed on 15th

May2014. At present, IEEE GPREC Student
Branch consists of ten Societies [CS,RAS, PES,
PELS, IAS, MTTS, COMSOC, IT, CIS, Sensors
Council] and One Affinity group [WIE AG].The
main aim of the student branch is to help the
students to enhance their skills in different
areas and to gain knowledge on the areas which
are booming in the present trend by organizing
various workshops, webinars, paper
presentations and many more technical &
nontechnical activities. Every week each society
conducts an event with the focus of improving
the student’s overall knowledge ranging from
technical to interpersonal skills. The major
flagship events include Ankoha [1.0, 2.0, 3.0,
4.0], Robotica, Technoledgica, Vriddhi. Many
students from the student branch are showing
their excellence and commitment towards
volunteering at various levels. Apart from these,
each and every volunteer provides their
continuous Isupport for the flourishment of the
student branch in all aspects. The faculty and
the management are providing their constant
motivation for the development of the student
branch.
English Club

In this ambitious and competitive world,

communication skills can be on par with
technical skills. These days students are
exceptionally good at technical skills but still
lack communication skills. Even though you
understand the world well, it would be in vain if
you can’t express yourself to the outside world.
English acts as an open door to the world and it
helps you to communicate better. Good
communication skills aid in all aspects of life
from professional life to personal life and
everything that falls in between. In this
connection, a new club came into existence
“ENGLISH CLUB”, the sub wing of the “TRAINING
AND PLACEMENT CLUB”. English club aims to
provide opportunities for students to
 practice listening skills, increase fluency
 reduce accent, and to encourage critical
thinking build confidence which allows
them to express opinions and debate issues
 Create an interactive community -enhance
quick learning in a fun way through a casual
setting Student volunteers of the English
Club have fabricated many activities like
elocutions, essay writing competitions,
debates, story narration, games, puzzles,
and quizzes.

English Club organizes the most prestigious

event “RHETORIC” every year. It is an orator
championship conducted in three phases
namely Prelims, Penultimate round, and The
Grand Finale,

English Club is student-centered and involves

the active participation of students which allows
them to learn English in a fun way in a natural
and authentic English- speaking classroom
community. English movies are screened which
helps students to improve their vocabulary and
fluency in English

games, GPREC students have developed their
own standards. The “Sports Club” was
established to offer the finest support to the
students in sports and games, and it is now one
of the best clubs at GPREC, operating under the
direction of the Physical Director and the
Management. By hosting games and sports in
several

Categories, the sports club draws students in a

unique way. It holds all kinds of sporting events
and competitions and encourages students to
showcase their skills at various levels, including
university competitions, autonomous
competitions, and more. The GPREC students
eventually reached university meetings as a
result of this. Through the Sports Club’s social
media channels, the champions are celebrated.
The sports club recently held a club cricket
league in addition to holding numerous other
contests and awarding winners. It was the
greatest time in sports club history to have an
alumni team. A proud occasion for GPREC was
when 15 students from diverse branches were
chosen for various games at university meets.

The major goal of the sports club is to help the

students develop their networks while also
instilling the values of sports and games. Sports
clubs in some way assist people in pursuing
their passions.

towards entrepreneurship.

CIE runs the Interactive, Discussion Session with

the help of Industry experts, Budding
entrepreneurs and Alumni of the campus. It
amalgamates the students and Resources of
different segments to give expertise to the
students on how to begin. This eventually
resulted in the participation of students in
national-level competitions such as the Smart
India Hackathon in which 4 teams were selected
and 1 team won the finale. The facilities
available on the campus are extended for
implementing and writing the ideas 10
concerned authorities and encouraging students

which was held in Chandigarh.

The Integral part of CIE lies in the creation of

Decision takers therefore the role of skilled
entrepreneurs and innovations are achieved
partially which is required during the stage of
Academics of the students.
