1. CERTIFICATION PROCESS
Step 1. OBTAIN A VOUCHER
Whether you are attempting the eMAPT certification
exam after having attended one of our approved
training courses or not, you will need to obtain a
voucher before you can start your certification
process.
Please note that Mobile Application Security and
Penetration Testing course includes a free voucher in the Elite, Full and
Corporate plans.
Once you obtain the voucher you will receive login credentials to our
certification area, where you will manage the exam and anything related
to the certification process from the beginning up to the shipment of your
certificate.

Step 2. BEGIN THE CERTIFICATION PROCESS


If you have the Full Plan the exam voucher expires 180 days after
purchase. Before that deadline you will have to begin the certification
process by clicking on "Begin certification process".

The expiration date will always be available in your certification area and
reminder emails are sent to make sure you take advantage of the
voucher.

Step 3. EXAM PROCESS


As soon as you click on the "Begin certification process" button, you will
receive an email with instructions regarding the scope of engagement.
This letter will contain exactly what you should test and how.
At this point, you will start your penetration test against the designated
targets; take note of your findings and start creating your report.
From this moment on, you’ll have 7 days to perform your tests against
the target applications and upload the final PoC.

Step 4. UPLOAD YOUR POC


Once you have performed a comprehensive
penetration test it is time to finalize your “Proof of
Concept”.
This should be a working Android application (source
code + .apk file). When ready (max. 7 days from the
beginning of the certification process), you will upload your PoC in .tar.gz
format for review.

Step 5. OBTAIN RESULTS


One of our instructors will carefully review your application and if your
findings and quality is deemed sufficient to pass the exam, you will
become an eMAPT.
Should you fail the first attempt, you will be notified via email and are
then entitled for a free retake.

IMPORTANT: The retake consists of a new set of applications to tests. You


have 7 days to upload your retake report from the moment you
download the target applications.
Once you pass the exam you will find the digital certificate
immediately downloadable and verifiable. You can also
have it printed on a beautiful matte paper and shipped to
you (Fast international shipping available).

2. ENVIRONMENT CONFIGURATION
Before starting your certification process, be sure to have your machine
properly configured.
The exam targets Android applications, so you will need the Android SDK
installed on your machine.
All the applications are built and compiled to work with Android SDK API
24, so be sure to download and install all the required packages from the
SDK Manager:

Since you’ll need to install and test few different applications, create one
or more virtual devices where you will run all your tests.
