JOURNAL ON SUNDAY WORSHIP (ACT# 1)
Joross Rein S. Naca BSN 1-7
Lesson learned- In our sufferings and crosses, we are not alone. Jesus' example of suffering
offers hope even when we can't understand the presence of suffering in our world.
Application- Always consider Gods will in every decision that we will made.
Prayer- Lord, guide my steps today, that I may walk in the way You want me to go and not
become an obstacle to Your plan.

JOURNAL ON SUNDAY WORSHIP (ACT# 2)

Scripture reading- Matthew 15: 18-20
15 'If your brother does something wrong, go and have it out with him alone, between your two
selves. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother.
16 If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you: whatever the misdemeanour, the
evidence of two or three witnesses is required to sustain the charge.
17 But if he refuses to listen to these, report it to the community; and if he refuses to listen to the
community, treat him like a gentile or a tax collector.
18 'In truth I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven; whatever you loose
on earth will be loosed in heaven.
19 'In truth I tell you once again, if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be
granted to you by my Father in heaven.
20 For where two or three meet in my name, I am there among them.'
Lesson learned- Jesus reminds us that wherever two people exist, there will be a difference of
opinion. The Church is given the Sacrament of Reconciliation as Jesus's presence among us to
deal with conflicts beginning with ourselves.
Application- If there is an issue that comes up, you address it directly. Don’t go behind that
person’s back and spread what should be kept between you to the community at large lest it turn
into something akin to rumors and gossip.
Prayer- Gracious God, help us to know of Your love as we work to resolve conflicts between us.
Help us to remember to forgive others as You have forgiven us.

Lesson Learned- Forgiveness is difficult. Forgiving those who hurt us and who do not ask for
forgiveness is even more difficult. There are compelling reasons to forgive, not the least of
which is the point made in the Gospel--that we will be forgiven by God the Father as we forgive
others.
Application- Let’s not hold back in asking for forgiveness when we have hurt others or in
forgiving others who have hurt us.
Prayer- Jesus, lead me to ask for forgiveness when I hurt others and help me to forgive, quickly
and completely, when I have been wronged.

CHRISTIAN FORMATION 1 – 4th SUNDAY (Sept. 24, 2023)
JOURNAL ON SUNDAY WORSHIP (ACT# 4)
Joross Rein S. Naca BSN 1-7
Scripture reading- Matthew 20: 1-16
For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire
workers for his vineyard. 2 He agreed to pay them a denarius[a] for the day and sent them into
his vineyard.
3 “About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing
nothing. 4 He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is
right.’ 5 So they went.
“He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. 6 About
five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why
have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’
Lesson Learned- when everything you do in your family feels like a competition, it drives a
wedge between those relationships. Who should be first? Who should be last? Through this
parable, Jesus reminds us that all who work for Him will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Application- the promise of heaven is available to all. What matters is putting in the work.
Serving God with humility, without comparison or care for status or position.
Prayer- Heavenly Father, as I answer Your call to my vocation, protect me from comparing my
work with others'. Always allow me to know You, love You, and serve You with humility.

Lesson Learned- Jesus highlights what it is to be truly faithful and the real change needed to
follow through in faith. Neither past decisions nor social positions of the sons was brought up,
but rather the choice that each would make after their encounter with the Father. Here, Jesus
speaks to the Jewish scribes and pharisees who had promised to do God’s will and yet would not
see that will fulfilled in Christ. It would be, however, the least likely Gentiles, fishermen and tax
collectors, who having heard Christ’s call would now leave everything behind to follow Jesus.
Application- The fruits of our yes today we may never see in another’s life, but oh the difference
God seeks to make in our own.
Prayer- Father, You know that the way ahead is not easy in committing to follow You today.
Strengthen the work of my hands and resolve in my heart to follow Your will and purpose in all I
do and say.
