The document describes an assignment where students are split into groups and research one of five Native American tribes that lived in Utah - Navajo, Paiute, Ute, Goshute, or Shoshone. Each group researches their assigned tribe by reading about their history on a website and filling out a worksheet with information like where they lived in Utah, details about their culture, how they used the natural environment to survive, and interesting facts they learned. Utah’s Native American Tribes

Instructions: After being put into groups of 5 classmates, grab your classroom laptop and go to
https://utahindians.org/archives/. You will then be assigned 1 of 5 different Native American tribes in
Utah: Navajo, Paiute, Ute, Goshute, or Shoshone. Click on the tribe you were assigned, then select
the link, “History”, on the left side of the page. Read the article and fill out the section below for your
assigned tribe. While waiting for your other group members to finish, explore the other tabs on your
page to learn more about your tribe. You have 25 minutes to work.

Once all group members are done researching their assigned tribe, take turns sharing what you
learned. This should not be simply reading what you wrote down, but rather a summary of the article
you read and sharing fun facts you learned. While each person is presenting their tribe, fill out that
tribe’s portion of your assignment below. Each member should share for 4-5 minutes.
