Introduction

Since prehistoric times, Iraq has been considered the cradle of

civilizations, the crossroads of cultures, and the center of different
beliefs and religions. Mesopotamia has been subjected during its
long history to multiple migrations. The Greeks and Romans came
to it from the north, the Mongols, the Turks and the Persians from
the east, and the Arabs crawled to it from the south and settled in its
land. the country, and the new Iraqi state gained its entity and
independence after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire as a result
of the First World War,
The Conflict Wheel Approach
Its main ordeal was when it plunged itself into two devastating wars, the first of which
was the Iran-Iraq war in 1980, which was supported by the United States of America, but
this policy soon changed in its second war when it invaded Kuwait in 1990.

Where he gave the United States of America a direct pretext for military intervention in
Iraq with a mandate from the United Nations in order to remove Iraqi forces from Kuwait
and protect American interests in the Gulf represented in protecting the security of Israel
and allying with it, and of course by controlling the huge oil reserves in the region

In addition to the growing role of Iraq as a regional power threatening the American
influence in the region, it made it adopt a new strategy towards Iraq, so it imposed an
economic blockade on it and weakened it economically, as it made it flounder internally
and the social and economic situation deteriorated, which led to the presence of
catastrophic effects that were reflected on the Iraqi people.
actors- Relations

1: Iraq is officially the Republic of Iraq, its

capital is the city of Baghdad. Iraq is located in
the western part of the continent of Asia, and it
overlooks the Arabian Gulf. It is a federal
parliamentary state, and it joins the membership
of the League of Arab States, the Organization of
the Islamic Conference, and the OPEC
Organization.

2: Iraq is located in the far east of the Arab

world, bordered on the north by Turkey, on the
east by Iran, on the west by Syria and Jordan,
and on the south by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

3: Iraq is one of the largest countries in the

world's oil reserves in the Middle East.
The Issues
1 : Oil and gas

2 : The Iraqi threat to invade Israel, considering

Palestine an Arab land

3 : Kuwait War

4 : The growing economic power of Iraq

5 : Arab unity and Arab nationalism for the Arab

countries

6 : The growing relations of China and Russia in

the Arab region
International opposition to the war on Iraq

stockholder

the international atmosphere began to change in

favor of Iraq, and the need to end sanctions
against it, and its relations began to gradually
improve with its neighbors, and the Gulf states,
including Kuwait, did not support a war against
Iraq, and France, Russia and China, likewise, cut
off trade and economic agreements with it. But
after the failure of the United States and Britain
to obtain an international resolution allowing the
war on Iraq
Causes.

1: Restructuring the countries of the region to

serve their interests

2: Siege and suffocate Iraq economically and

militarily

3: The American military presence in the region

4: Establishing democracy in Iraq and working

for human rights and ridding it of the dictatorial
regime

5: Exploiting Iraqi oil, which is one of the largest

oil reserves in the world

6: Overthrowing Saddam Hussein's anti-Western

regime
current situation
The occupation of Iraq left horrific
scenes of misery and chaos. The
United States did not achieve the
strategic goal of this invasion
process, which is to control it
politically, economically and

security, and the argument to
establish a new political model that
would set an example for the
surrounding countries did not
succeed in it. Rather, we find that
Iraq still to this day does not enjoy
security and not the democracy that
was promised to the Iraqis.
Summary
After the drums of war sounded, and the American military machine,
supported by the coalition forces, led by Britain, became active, it was clear
that there are goals and interests pursued by the United States of America,
although it had announced a number of goals for this war, but the hidden goals
were more terrifying. And the deeper impact is not on the future of Iraq, but
on the future of the entire region, and it is no secret to the analyst of events
that the main engine of the American military machine is economic interests.
The geo-strategic location of Iraq due to its mediation and its proximity to
Russia and China, which are wary of their power and seek to monitor them
closely, in addition to the American foothold close to “Israel” providing it
with the cover it always needs.
