NARRATIVE REPORT
The Rapid Mathematics Assessment (RMA) is a vital tool designed for evaluating the
fundamental mathematical skills of learners in Grade 1 to 3. Its primary aim is to pinpoint any gaps in
these essential skills. To achieve this objective, the RMA is administered during the first quarter of each
school year. This timing serves several strategic purposes.

Early Intervention: Administering the RMA at the start of the school year enables early
intervention. The primary rationale is to swiftly identif skill gaps, empowering educators to promptly
address them. This early intervention is critical because it allows teachers to implement targeted support
and instructiona; strategies, significantly influencing a learner’s mathematical development throughtout
the svhool year.

Baseline Measurement: The first quiency at the beginning of the academic year. This arter
assessment acts as baseline measurement, offering a snapshot of learners’ mathematical proficiency at the
beginning of the academic year. This baseline helps teachers and school administering track progress over
time and assess the effectiveness of instructiona; strategies and curriculum adjustment.
