Performance Task Overview: TV Broadcasting Video Project

Title: "Illuminating the Impact of Media and Information Literacy in Multiple Sectors"

Objective: This performance task allows students to explore and understand the impacts
of MIL in multiple sectors, enhances their research, presentation, and advertisement
creation skills, and promotes media and information literacy. It encourages critical
thinking about the role of MIL in shaping society and various aspects of life while
fostering creativity and effective communication.

Task Overview: Create a TV broadcast segment in the format of a news segment, talk
show, or documentary, highlighting the impacts of Media and Information Literacy (MIL)
in the sectors of Education, Economy, Politics, and Society. Additionally, students will
create their own broadcasting company name and insert advertisements out of their own
creativity.

Materials Needed:

 Video recording equipment (for TV broadcasts)


 Access to a recording location or studio (if available)
 Research materials and internet access
 Presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides)
 Access to a computer or tablets
 Creativity in creating advertising content for each sector

Rubric (Total: 100 points):

 Content Relevance and Research Quality: 30 points


 Organization and Structure: 20 points
 Creativity and Engagement: 20 points
 Application of MIL Concepts in All Sectors: 20 points
 Advertisement Quality: 10 points
