INTRODUCTION
 The Word AutoCAD is made up of two words “Auto” (logo of
company) and “CAD” (computer aided design/drafting).

 AutoCAD is 2D and 3D modeling software.

 It is developed by Autodesk company.

 It is widely used in industry for 2D drawing and 3D modeling.

 In another way we can say that AutoCAD is a designing and


drafting course , which is performed by the help of computer.
AUTOCAD VERSION
 AutoCAD software was firstly launched by Autodesk company in
Dec. 1982.
 Developer of AutoCAD is John Walker.
 The first version of AutoCAD was R1 after that R2,R3,R4 and so
on.
 In 2000,Autodesk launched a version of AutoCAD 2000 after that
2001,2002 and so on.
 This time, we have the latest version of AutoCAD is 2023,which
is launched on 28th March 2022.
AUTOCAD SCREEN
WAYS TO EXECUTE A COMMAND
 Make a selection on a ribbon, toolbar, or menu.
 Enter a command in a dynamic input tooltip.
 Enter a command in the command window.
HOW AUTOCAD WORKS
 Everything that we draw in Autocad is exact.
 All object drawn on screen is based on X and Y coordinate system.
 Its entire interface is developed for the design of plans and
structures, and is divided as follows:
 Graphic Area: where we will make our designs
 Options Ribbon: where we will locate the most common actions in our
work environment
 Pull-down menu bar and toolboxes
 Status bar, in which we find information about coordinates, grid control
buttons or orthometric mode, among others, in vector form
 Command line, used to interact with the program by commands to get
calculations or information
