6. How to operate the electrometer

1) Connect the blue clip to the sample and the green clip to the reference
Potential (blue clip – black clip) – (green clip – black clip)
Measure the difference between the blue clip and the green clip using the clip as reference.
2) Function setting: E. METER

± 00.00 ~ ±11.00 (resolution 10 mV) 2 range automatic switching
4) Potential display: The display on the second line of the panel meter is the measured
electrode potential E.
5) Recording the potential: The potential E is applied to the POTENTIAL terminal on the back
panel at a ratio of 1:1 will be output

7. How to operate a POTENTIOSTAT

7.1 Subjunctive: as shown (see 4.1)

7.2 Function switch: set to PSTAT
7.3 Potential setting: (1) internal setting up to ±5.1 V
(2) External setting connects a voltage source (for example, a function
generator) to EXT INPUT. Connect up to ± 10 V
7.4 Setting the current range
1) Manual setting: Set using the UP/DOWN switches in 13
To check which range is currently set, check the 4 th digit number on the STATUS line (4th
line) of the display. 1=200 mA, -7=200 nA
2) Auto range setting: Set the AUTO by press switch so that the 13 AUTO lamp lights up.
3) The AUTO switch works as a toggle, when you press it in auto mode, it goes into manual
mode. If you press it in manual mode, it becomes auto.
4) The UP/DOWN switch is effective in interrupt operation, manual mode and auto mode.

7.5 Auto range lower limit setting

1) The automatic switching range of the current range (lower limit only) can be limited.
This is useful for noisy signals, especially signals with polarity changes.
2) Select any range from 4 ranges of 2 µA, 20 µA, 200 µA, and 2 mA
It can be selected as the lower limit of automatic switching. For example, if you set 20
µA as the lower limit, automatic switching to the lower range will occur even if the
current value falls below 2 µA.
3) To set the lower limit, press the SETTING 15 OTHER key.
4) CH1: 7 will be displayed on the 4th CH2 line (bottom line) of the display.
This number (7)
5) Using the “arrow” key to set C.R.LT to 3, the lower limit range will be 2 mA
6) C.R. LT and current range lower limit comparison table
3=2 mA, 4=200 mA, 5=20 µA, 6=200 µA, 7=200 nA

8. How to operate GALVANOSTAT

8.1 Connect as shown (see 4.1)
8.2 Setting: G. STAT
8.3 Current setting: (1) The full scale of the internal vernier corresponds to the full value of the
current range.
(2) External input 1 V corresponds to the full range value
8.4 Current range switching: Manual only, auto range switching is not possible
8.5 The electrometer has a blue clip and green clip based on the black clip to measure the
difference potential between electrodes.
Potential = (Blue clip – Black clip) – (Green clip – Red clip)
There is no cancelation voltage

9. Resistance less galvanometer

9.1 Connection methods as shown in 4.1
9.2 Setting = ZERO SHUNT
9.3 It is the same as potentiostat in all respects excepts for the following:
(1) The electrometer operates independently
(2) Electrode potential (short circuit state) can be measured, but the potential cannot be set.

#1 GPIB address setting or serial communication setting

Open the setting dialog box from the menu [File] [GPIB Address]
Please key in the GPIB address according to the address of the PS main unit
Hardware device address initial setting value Potentiostat PS-08 : 8

For serial communication settings

Port settings. The connection to the outside of the computer is COM1.
When using a serial USB converter, it must match the COM1 number of the OS. Please check the
system device manager.
Select the device baud rate. The baud rate and stop bits must be set to the same value as the
external device. Period value 19200 – stop bit = 1

#2 Built-in memory setting

#3 Coulomb (electricity) measurement (optional)

(1) Detection mode: ON. ON/OFF can be switched arbitrarily. Important! If it is OFF, it will not be
calculated
(2) Detection type: Monotonous change in elapsed time, current density, current, and potential.
Leave the elapsed time as it is
(3) Detection range 1: 0 minute. This is the point at which the 0-minute coulomb calculation
starts. Measured from 0. Any value within the specified range
(4) Detection range 2: 1 minute. This is the point where Coulomb calculation ends. Measured
from 0. Range 1 and 2 may be reversed. If the range is outside the measurement range, take
the external value.
(5) Set the starting and ending points for electricity quantity from the graph.
5-1 Select the graph to be measured. When you click on the graph name on the right side of
the display, the graph number attached to the graph will turn red. This is the graph where the
amount of electricity is calculated.
5-2 Turn on the detection mode
5-3 Select the detection range 1. Make sure the detection range 1 in the Coulomb display box
is activated (make sure the colour changes) and select any point on the graph.
Hold down the spacebar and click. This time is detection range 1.
This is the starting point for coulomb calculation. The next point clicked becomes the point at
which the coulomb calculation ends. Important notes! Hold down the space key and click
5-4 Select the detection range 2. Make sure the detection range 2 in the Coulomb display box
is active (make sure the colour changes) and click any point on the graph. Hold down the
spacebar and click. This time is the detection range 2
5-5 Calculation of coulomb amount
Once the detection range 2 is set, the program checks the points on the graph and
automatically calculate the coulomb amount. Each setting in electrical quantity measurement
is for calculating electrical quantity. Measurement has no effect.
