Environmental Awareness Speech

Hi, I'm here to talk about risks factors underlying disasters with you all and offer my
opinions. I am incredibly grateful for the chance to give this speech. Disaster is a
calamity that occurs suddenly. A calamity that leaves a significant number of people
injured or dead in a short period of time hence we should be prepared as always to
be able to survive in any disasters come.
What are the risks factors underlying disasters? These are climate change,
Environmental degradation, globalized economic development, poverty and
inequality, poorly planned and managed urban development, and weak governance.
Climate change is defined as an alteration in the climate that lasts for decades or
more and is brought on by either natural or human factors. Examples of this include
cyclones, infectious diseases, wildfires, and drought. Sea levels are also rising.
Disasters are caused by environmental degradation, which limits the environment's
ability to meet societal and ecological demands. Globally, the gap between the rich
and the poor has grown as a result of globalized economic development. Disasters
are both a cause and a result of poverty, and processes that increase catastrophe
risk-related poverty are infused with inequality. The future of disaster risk reduction
will be significantly impacted by whether or not disaster risk is taken into account
when making investment decisions for urban development. Weak governance zones
are investment settings where public sector players are unable or unwilling to
assume their duties and obligations in defending rights, offering essential services,
public services, and guaranteeing effective and efficient public sector management.
Weak governance is the result of these "government failures," which propagate
wider problems in governmental, societal, and political institutions.
Is it important for us to be informed and to have understanding about different kinds
of disasters and calamities so that we can be prepare because we cannot stop this
kind of phenomenon so we should be alert when this time comes.
