INSTRUCTIONS

THANKS FOR DOWNLOADING WAX CRAYON BRUSHES!

The pack contains 40 realistically textured brushes.

TO LOAD THE BRUSHES INTO AFFINITY DESIGNER...

1. Open the ‘BRUSHES PANEL’ by accessing the ‘VIEW>STUDIO>BRUSHES’ menu.

2. Access the right hand corner menu on the panel and select ‘IMPORT BRUSHES...’ as shown
below.

3. Navigate to the downloaded, unzipped product folder and select the brushes file. The
brushes will now be loaded.
TO DRAW WITH THE BRUSHES...

1. Open a document and make sure you’re in the ‘DESIGNER PERSONA’ if working on the
desktop version of Affinity Designer (as shown below) or, the ‘VECTOR PERSONA’ if working
in the Ipad version. Please note all screen-grabs show the desktop version.

CLICK HERE!

2. Select the brushes from the drop-down menu on the ‘BRUSHES PANEL’.

3. Choose the ‘VECTOR BRUSH TOOL’ from the ‘TOOLS MENU’.

4. Select one of the brushes from the ‘BRUSHES PANEL’ by clicking on it.

5. Click and Draw!

You can also apply a brush to an existing vector stroke by selecting it and then clicking on a
brush panel icon.

PRO TIP! Keep brush strokes smooth and simple and avoid creating paths with too many
anchor points. Running a brush along a complex path may cause your brush stroke to distort.

TO EDIT THE BRUSH STROKES...

To change the color of a brush stroke simply select it then adjust the stroke color. You can also
apply a gradient to a brush stroke.

To adjust the thickness of a brush stroke select it and change the stroke width.

REVERSING THE DIRECTION OF A BRUSH STROKE

To reverse the direction of a brush stroke follow these steps:

1. Select a stroke which has a brush applied to it.

2. Select the ‘NODE TOOL’.

3. Locate the ‘REVERSE CURVE’ button in the node options near the top of screen and click it.
