3.5 Site installation
The logger can hang from a cable or hook fixed in the wall in an area such as a manhole.
Important Note: Install the logger in an environment that does not exeed the instrument
specifications: -10°C to 40°C, 15 – 90% r.H.
Install the logger vertically and make sure there is minimum 50 mm space between
the logger and walls or other equipment as shown above.
Do not install the logger into the water. Make sure there is enough space between
the water and the logger.
Never hang the logger from the cable connector. Always use the suspension locks
delivered with the equipment.
1. Secure the suspension lock to the wall of the manhole (use hooks, spanner bar, cable, etc.)
2. Fix the logger to the suspension lock
Note : A good antenna positioning allows good and fast data transmission quality and also
increases battery life.
After having installed the RTQ logger in the manhole, set a small data transmission interval (ex: 5 min) to verify the
GSM level. The transmission interval can be changed afterwards through 123Flow, refer to section 4.4.6.2 on page
- 28 -.
When the GSM level is too low, try to place the logger so that the antenna is close a hole of the manhole cover. If
the GSM level does not get better, other antenna mounting options are available.
- 17 -
Consider the following antenna mounting possibilities:
1. Drill a hole from the manhole wall facing upwards and place the antenna into the hole.
