The superior print quality of the System 38 press is an established fact.

The key is Komori's unique cylinder array of double-size blanket and plate cylinders and large-diameter inking
rollers, which guarantee an utterly stable, stress-free paper flow.
The inker design, dampening system and automatic register guidance function employ

The hickey picker is motorized and 1st ink form rollers and dampening rollers use an innovative oscillating design.
Digital control executed from the state-of-the-art operation console offers very easy operation,

Fold format changeover is integrated into the KHS-AI system and is fully automated.

Komori's revolutionary fully automatic platechanging (Full APC) system makes

the System 38D the ultimate short-run 32-page web.
Full APC lets one operator change all eight plates in less than three minutes — time
and labor metrics that actually change the equation.
The press is designed to maximize the efficiency of Full APC, with easy setting of plates
in the loader and ample space between units for the operator.
And the high plate mounting accuracy takes full advantage of high-end CTP systems.
To further streamline job changeovers, the System 38D employs the Smart Sequence System
for simultaneous parallel execution of changeover tasks based on the job ticket data.
In addition, it deploys the Synchronized Drive System, which accelerates the press very quickly,
allowing the operator to get the OK sheet and begin final printing with no delay.
Both systems have a significant impact on the economics of short-run work, saving considerable time and labor.

System 38D productivity is derived from the logic of a 32-page press printing flawlessly at 39,000iph.
Yet the imperative of handling shorter run lengths makes short makeready time equally important.
The System 38D performs makereadies in a fraction of the time needed by every other 32-page web on the market.
Directing this brilliant performance is the Komori DoNet-based KHS-AI (Advanced Interface) system
with integrated self-learning function, standard on the System 38D.
K-Station sends the job ticket, including paper specifications, inking profile, and fold format to KHS-AI,
which then searches its database for the optimum press operating parameters,
controlling web guides, tensions, dryer settings and other variables.
The press is fine-tuned even before the job starts running.
The KHS-AI self-learning function facilitates optimized presetting by continuously analyzing the fine color adjustments
and compensation values that vary by plant environment, paper type, other printing materials, and even client.
This analysis is used for continuously updating the KHS-AI database to provide the best preset data
for everything from ink key openings to chopper timing. The fastest and most accurate 32-page setup ever.

into the easy-to-use KHS-AI system in the operation console.

maintenance control and also provide an error history.
