Let’s talk about WATCHING TV

1. Do you like watching TV?
Trang: I like watching TV. I usually watching TV with my family.
Thuận: Yes, I can spend hours sitting in front of the screen to watch
my favourite programs. It really makes me feel refreshed and
reduce my stress after a long day when I follow one specific TV
program.

2. What is your favourite TV programme?

I like film, game show......
Thuận: I’m interested in watching TV drama series like Korean drama
series and reality shows. I feel they are not only useful, but also
entertaining and sometimes touching.

3. How much time do you spend watching it?

I often spend two hours a day.
Thuận: I’d say all my leisure time is spent on watching TV, nearly 4-5
hours per day. I love lying down on the bed and choosing any
channels as I want by a remote control. It’s so relaxing and
exciting.

Let’s talk about CLOTHES

1. What kinds of clothes do you like most?

Trang: I like casual and comfortable clothing like t-shirts and jeans for
everyday wear, while others may favor more formal attire such
as suits or dresses for special occasions.
 Thuận:

My favourite kind of clothes are: vintage clothes, classic style, casual

clothes, ,smart clothes, dress ,long-skirt mix shirt or vest.I
regularly update fashion trends ,I take pride in one’s appearance
,so I have a sense of style / I dress up trendy.

(News: I’m a fan of comfortable and casual clothes such as T-shirts,

jeans, and sneakers. I find these clothes not only comfortable
but also boost my confidence.)
2. Were there any rules or regulations about what you
should wear at school?
Bài làm:
The university I am studying at does not require uniforms like high school
students. But you must dress politely, neatly, and pedantically, not wearing
slacks, short pants, or slippers.
Thuận: There aren’t some rules of clothing at my school, I mean I can free to
have different outfits, just wearing a polite outfit. Unlike in my high school, I
had to follow a dress code with white shirt and trousers, from Monday to
Friday.

3. What do you think about first when you buy your clothes:
price, quality or style?

Thuận: I prefer price first and foremost when buying something including
clothes. You know, now I a student and I don’t have enough money to
get expensive or luxurious clothes. I usually choose some pieces of
items with reasonable prices and then mix and match them to be
suitable with any situations.

I learned how to cook a traditional dish from my grandmother in her
kitchen. We made a family recipe for a special occasion. I
decided to do it because I wanted to learn how to carry on our
family's culinary traditions. The dish turned out to be a hit, and
everyone enjoyed it, so I would consider it a successful learning
experience.

Tôi đã học cách nấu một món ăn truyền thống từ bà tôi trong căn bếp

Thuận:
I’m going to talk about a time that I learned cooking from my mother. If
I’m not mistaken, she taught me how to do it about 4 years ago
when I was in high school. At the time, she asked me if I wanted to
 learn about it and suggested that I should as it would be helpful for
me in the future. At first, I felt a bit lazy because cooking to me is a
bit time-consuming. After several days thinking long and hard
about it, I decided to give it a try. During the first few weeks, I
always had trouble seasoning my dishes. They usually ended up
either too sweet or too salty. Fortunately, my mother was very
patient and gently walked me through all the difficulties that I had
encountered. Thanks to that, after only just a month, I was able to
cook well. It makes me feel like hours spent in the kitchen are
totally great. There're a few reasons why I believe knowing how to
cook matters. For one thing, cooking at home is cheaper and safer
than eating out. I mean I'm the person who chooses the
ingredients and how to process them so I can avoid some
problems. I can also save money. On top of that, it has helped me
become more independent. I can take care of myself wherever I
go. For the most part, I think everyone should learn how to cook
regardless of their gender.

FOLLOW-UP: I like to work with a team when I do assignment at school.

Because I can get more ideas from ideas about how to do smart
work from team members. If your work is quite complicated,
Working with others will go faster and support each other to get a
good result. Therefore, Teamwork not only increases productivity
but also upgrades the quality of work.

Part 3: Discussion (4’)

• How has teaching changed during Covid-19 pandemic?

• What are the benefits of self-studying?

1. This pandemic has changed many things in terms of teaching:
who we are as teachers, the classroom itself as well as the
students. As we all know, in response to the pandemic, schools
at all levels needed an shift and programme toward online
education, which can be both an opportunity and a challenge.
To be specific, many schools apply different approaches and
online platforms to teach like Zoom or Google Meet.

2. There are several advantages of self-study. First and foremost,

self-education boosts student's brain activity such as memory
function, concentration function, and so on, which leads to a
better result. Moreover, I also believe that self-education help
learners widen knowledge and experiences. Students can
explore, learn and do research on various projects that they've
concerned such as job, extra activities, fashionable tendency, …
As a result, students become more knowledgeable and
confident about fields of life.

Let’s talk about your FREE TIME.

1.What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, I like listening to music and watching TV. Because It

really makes me feel refreshed and reduce my stress after a
long day.

Trang: "Yes. One sport that I have wanted to try for a long time is ice
skating. It's a sport I like, but I haven't had the time to go and do
 it. Perhaps, in the near future, I will arrange some time to join
and play with my close friend."

3. How has the way people spent their free time changed over the
years?

"As in previous years, when people hadn't fully utilized their leisure
time, they would often lie on the sofa and "glue their eyes" to
their phones, scrolling through TikTok, Facebook, playing
games, and so on. However, after realizing the value of such
leisure time, they learned to make use of it to rejuvenate energy,
increase creativity, and enthusiasm in both work and life. The
reality is that, no matter what job you do, alongside the times of
"running with your feet on your neck," there are also moments of
leisure "doing nothing."

During leisure time, we can do many things, such as reading books—

any type of book that we find interesting. The more you read,
the more knowledge you gain. Books improve mental well-being
and help you communicate better. Moreover, at some point,
knowledge from those books may be useful for your career. You
can also spend 30 minutes a day exercising to enhance your
health, promote a relaxed mind, and fill yourself with energy for
work. If you use this leisure time wisely, it can truly be
considered a golden opportunity for self-improvement and
development.
Time waits for no one; seize your remaining time to become
increasingly better so that when you look back, you won't regret
what has passed."

Như các năm về trước, khi người ta chưa tận dụng được thời gian
rảnh rỗi của mình thì thường người ta sẽ nằm dài trên ghế sofa
và “dán mắt” vào điện thoại để lướt Tiktok, Facebook, chơi
game,... Nhưng sau khi họ thấy được những giá trị của những
thời gian rảnh rỗi như vậy thì họ đã biết tận dụng thời gian đó
để tái tạo năng lượng, tăng sự sáng tạo, nhiệt huyết trong công
việc và cuộc sống.Thực tế cho thấy, dù bạn làm công việc nào
thì bên cạnh những lúc “vắt chân lên cổ mà chạy” thì cũng có
lúc rảnh rỗi “ngồi không”. Trong thời gian rảnh rỗi chúng ta có
thể làm nhiều việc như: đọc sách, đọc bất kì loại sách nào mà
mình thấy thích. Càng đọc nhiều bạn càng hiểu biết nhiều hơn.
Sách cải thiện đời sống tinh thần và giúp bạn nói chuyện hay
hơn. Thậm chí, một lúc nào đó kiến thức từ những cuốn sách
có thể sẽ hữu ích cho sự nghiệp của bạn. Bạn cũng có dành ra
30 phút mỗi ngày để tập thể dục, nhằm nâng cao sức khoẻ,
giúp tinh thần thoải mái, tràn đầy năng lượng để làm việc. Nếu
tận dụng được khoảng thời gian rảnh rỗi này một cách hợp lý
thì đây thực sự có thể coi là khoảng thời gian vàng để nâng cao
và phát triển bản thân.

Thời gian không đợi chờ một ai cả, hãy tận dụng thời gian còn lại của
mình để ngày càng hoàn thiện hơn, để sau này khi nhìn lại bạn

1. Where do you prefer to live, in a city or in the country?
I prefer to live in a city because i think that life in a city is always more
exciting and more comfortable than life in a country or in a small
town.
2. What are the major social problems in big cities?

city are extremely friendly, and the overall intellectual level is

Tôi nghĩ thành phố tốt nhất Việt Nam là thành phố Đà Nẵng. Bởi đây
là một thành phố luôn đứng top trong danh sách các thành phố đáng
sống nhất tại Việt Nam, Đà Nẵng có đầy đủ các tố chất thu hút khách
du lịch không chỉ trong nước mà còn cả ngoài nước, không chỉ là nơi
đáng để tham quan du lịch Đà Nẵng còn là nơi nhiều người muốn cư

Describe your favourite festival or celebration.

You should say:

• what it is;
• when it is celebrated;

and say what people often do during the festival or celebration.

- During all the holidays, my favorite festival is Lunar New Year

- Lunar New Year usually lasts about 7 to 8 days at the end of the old
year and the first 7 days of the new year (from the 23rd of the
12th lunar month to the end of the 7th of the 1st lunar month).

- As Tet approaches, family members often gather, clean and decorate

the house, lay out the five-fruit tray, wrap Chung cake, have the
Tat Nien meal, make offerings to the Kitchen Gods, and eagerly
await the New Year's Eve.

- During Lunar New Year, many families excitedly go to the pagoda for
the first visit of the year to pray for a healthy and happy new
year. Especially, there is a tradition that everyone knows, which
is giving lucky money and exchanging New Year greetings with
relatives and friends. This is a meaningful activity throughout the
Tet days.

Tết Nguyên Đán hàng năm thường kéo dài khoảng 7 đến 8 ngày cuối

tháng Giêng).

Mỗi dịp Tết đến gần, các thành viên trong gia đình thường sum họp,
quây quần bên nhau, cùng nhau, dọn dẹp, trang trí nhà cửa,

cúng Ông Táo, được đón giao thừa.

lệ mà không ai là không biết đến đó chính là lì xì và chúc Tết
người thân, bạn bè. Đây là hoạt động xuyên suốt những ngày
Tết, vô cùng ý nghĩa.

Today I’m going to tell you about one of the biggest, oldest traditional
festival and has the widest popular range in Vietnam, which is
Tet Holiday.

Tet marks (=celebrates) the arrival of spring and is the most important
celebration in Vietnamese culture and it has the date falling in
(which falls in) = takes place around late January or early
February according to the Lunar Calendar.

Many Vietnamese people prepare for Tet by cooking special holiday

food which includes giò, xôi, canh măng anh banh chung - an
indispensable (= absolutely necessary) dish that is tightly
packed sticky with meat and mung beans filling, wrapped in
banana leaves
Traditionally, every household is decorated by yellow apricot blossoms
(hoa mai) in the central and the southern parts of Vietnam; or
peach blossoms (hoa đào) in the northern part.

Many customs are practiced around Tet. Children often receive a red
envelope containing money from their elders after giving them
traditional Tet greetings. During Tet days people also visit
relatives and friends to wish them all a happy new year. Local
pagodas are popular spots as well, as people go there to wish
for a better year to come for their families.

Tet holiday is the only occasion that people that people start forgetting
about the troubles of the past year and hope for a better
upcoming year.

2. What are benefits of travelling?

in during the weekends or in their free time. When the weekend
arrives, many people choose to go on outings, camping trips, or travel
with family and close friends. Such travel experiences help strengthen
family bonds and friendships, adding freshness and more energy to
our lives.

2. Traveling brings many benefits. Firstly, it helps us relax mentally.

You feel refreshed, comfortable, and revitalized as if your
energy is replenished. Secondly, travel also helps you expand
your social circle. Indeed, it provides opportunities to meet and
 connect with new friends—those who share similar interests and
a passion for exploration. In particular, traveling contributes to
improving communication skills. This is an unexpected benefit of
travel. After each journey, you will feel more confident, easily
blend into crowds, and significantly enhance your
communication skills. This effect is achieved through group
activities during the trip, which bring people closer together and
make you more open-minded.

I don't have time about shopping so I don’t go very often, I only go shopping
when necessary because I'm not a big shopper.

once a month. I usually go to the shopping center to buy essential
items for my life, such as clothes, bags, cosmetics, food, and drinks."

I bought a mobile phone because it was my mother’s birthday
Thuận: I bought my mom a beautiful bouquet to decorate our house on her
birthday, she loved it and thanked me very much.
Trang: I bought my mother a coat for her birthday last month. She really
liked it and thanked me a lot. My mother wore it right after I gave it to
her.
(Tôi đã mua cho mẹ tôi một chiếc áo khoác vào dịp sinh nhật của mẹ tôi
tháng trước. Mẹ tôi đã rất thích và cảm ơn tôi rất nhiều. Mẹ tôi đã mặc

I prefer going shopping with my friends because we can share useful
advice together
Thuận: I prefer shopping with my friend because they know what will fit me
and I also can spend more time with them more than shopping alone.

1. Have you ever kept a pet?

Thuận: Yes, I used to take care of my cat 5 years ago.

Trang: "Yes, I used to have a cat about 5 years ago. That cat was very
adorable, with a beautiful shiny yellow coat. I really liked it,
feeding it every day and keeping it clean by giving it baths."

Có, tôi đã từng nuôi một con mèo khoảng 5 năm về trước. Con mèo
ấy rất đáng yêu, nó có màu vàng óng rất đẹp.Tôi rất thích nó,
ngày nào cũng cho nó ăn, tắm rửa cho nó sạch sẽ.

2. Do you like going to the zoo?

Thuận: When I was a child, I like going to zoo to spend a day with my
dad and mom. But now I seldom visit the zoo because nobody
would suggest me to pay a visit the zoo

Trang: "Yes. I really ioy visiting the zoo; it was a childhood dream of
mine. When I was little, I used to love going to the zoo with my
family. As I grew up, I only occasionally visited the zoo, but it
was usually with my close friends. It's a wonderful place to help
us explore the world of animals."

3. Is it important to let children to know about animals?

Thuân: it's important to educate children about animals. Learning about

animals helps children develop a sense of empathy, responsibility, and
an understanding of the natural world. It can also contribute to their
cognitive and emotional development. If you have any specific
 questions or topics related to animals that you'd like to discuss, feel
free to let me know!

Trang: "Yes. Educating children about animals is very important. For little
ones, everything in life is new and full of colors. That's why they are
always curious and excited to explore everything around them.
Teaching children about animals when they are young not only
provides basic knowledge that everyone should know but also nurtures
their love for animals. It stimulates their thinking and enhances their
spirit of learning.

Psychological experts suggest that children who learn about animals early on
are often very proactive. They enjoy discovering the world they live in
and have a tendency to like experiencing and moving around."

Dịch: (Có. Việc giáo dục trẻ về động vật là rất quan trọng. Bởi với các bé mọi

Thuận: I would like to tell you about my favorite wild animal, my favorite
animal is lions because their manes seem very supple. I’ve liked lions
ever since I watched the Disney movie, The Lion King, when I was
young. They are known as the king of the jungle because their physical
strength like no other animal, yet it never backs down from a fight.
They are also known as the symbol of bravery, strength and royalty. I
like them because even though they are big or ferocious, they are still
just a big cat, with the behavior of a sleeping cat.

Following question:
I don't think lions will love children. Even though they have behaviour of a
cat, it's too dangerous to touch them. Even adults are afraid of a lion,
not to mention children because of their ferocity and brutality. They
are not friendly at all, so they are nicknamed the king of the jungle.

1. What sports do you play?
I sometime play badminton
Trang: "Actually, I'm not very skilled in playing sports; I only know a
little about each sport. For example, occasionally, I also
participate in cycling and play badminton. Moreover, I'm not
good at sports like volleyball, high jump, long jump, and
swimming."
Dịch: Thực ra, tôi cũng không giỏi để chơi các môn thể thao lắm, mỗi
môn thể thao tôi chỉ biết một chút thôi. Ví dụ như thỉnh thoảng,
tôi cũng tham gia đạp xe, chơi cầu lông. Ngoài ra, tôi chơi
không giỏi các môn thể thao như: bộ môn bóng chuyền, nhảy

In my country, football is the most common sport activity and I think it

is considered the king of sports. People prefer football over any
kinds of sports because of the animating atmosphere it brings
back. They go wild when our team wins a game- they even drive
around waving flags and honking.

Mỗi một tập phát sóng lại là một hoàn cảnh, một số phận đầy éo
le. Dù điều kiện đi học, đến trường của các em còn nhiều khó
khăn, cuộc sống còn nhiều thứ phải lo toan, nhưng các em đều
cố gắng học tập thật tốt, với ước mơ thoát nghèo. Chính bởi
tinh thần ham học, không chịu khuất phục trước mọi khó khăn,
luôn cố gắng vì một tương lai tươi sáng đang đợi các em ở phía
trước đã chạm đến trái tim của em, cũng như của rất nhiều
người.
