1. Structural isomers are molecules with the same molecular formula but different structural formulas. Position isomers have the same carbon skeleton but different positions of substituents. 2. To calculate the number of structural isomers of a molecule, use the formula (C+1) where C is the number of carbons. For example, the number of structural isomers of C5H12 is (5+1) = 6. 3. The number of structural isomers of C6H13Br is (6+1) = 7.
