RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This portion explains the methodologies that were used in gathering data

and analysis which are relevant to the research. This was divided into several

sections: method of research, description of the respondents, data gathering

procedure, research instruments, and statistical tools.

Method of Research

According to Kombo (2006), the quantitative approach a technique uses

numerical data or data that are quantified. The researcher combined quantitative

approach in analyzing the data collected. The reasons are due to the fact that

some findings needed personal assessment of the information obtained from the

respondents, while some conclusions reached after doing simple mathematical

computations such as percentage and tabulations. This mixed-methods

approach allowed for a nuanced understanding of the data. While quantitative

analysis provided objective insights through statistical calculations, ultimately

leading to a more comprehensive and meaningful interpretation of the research

findings.

Descriptions of the Respondents

The population of the respondents for this study consists of 31 ICT

teachers from San Roque Elementary School. The respondents were selected

based on the criteria set by the researcher which is to include teachers who are

willing to participate in the study. This ensured the recruited teachers possessed
a level of familiarity with the subject matter and context under investigation,

maximizing the study's potential for insightful and relevant findings. By targeting

teachers with specific experience and subject knowledge, the study fostered a

deeper understanding of the research topic, allowing for richer data, nuanced

interpretations, and more impactful conclusions relevant to the specific needs of

San Roque Elementary School.

Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers prepared procedures in order to achieve and obtain the

aim and objectives of the study. This study used total enumeration consisting of

thirty-one (31) respondents from the san roque elementary school ICT teachers.

In order to conduct the study and collect the necessary data, the researchers

created a formal letter duly noted by their research instructor to conduct the study

and data gathering through survey questionnaires and in-depth interviews with

the elementary ICT teachers. After the permission was granted, a dry run was

made to validate the research instruments before the actual data gathering. A

whole sample population of elementary ICT teachers of San Roque Elementary

School were the respondents of the dry run. The study using the research

instruments was found to be understandable and acceptable. After the research

instrument was validated, the researchers personally started to gather data. The

researchers-made survey questionnaire is administer to the respondents. After

the survey was accomplished the researchers proceed to conduct the in-depth

interview. The data gathering was all done during the vacant time of the

teachers. The researchers explain the purpose and direction of the survey
questionnaires. All the data that have been gathered was handled with strict

confidentiality. The participants were not provided with a paid incentive, and

participation was voluntary.

Research Instruments

In this study, the researcher used questionnaires as a way of data

collection. This method offered several advantages, making it well-suited for the

research objectives. Firstly, questionnaires enabled the researcher to gather

standardized data from all participants efficiently. By presenting consistent sets

of questions in a structured format, the researcher minimized discrepancies in

responses and ensured data collected from each teacher could be readily

compared and analyzed. Secondly, questionnaires allowed for anonymity.

Teachers could answer questions honestly and openly without fear of judgment

or bias, potentially leading to more reliable and genuine insights. Furthermore,

questionnaires provided flexibility in terms of administration. They could be

distributed and completed online, offline, or during designated times,

accommodating the teachers' schedules and maximizing participation. Finally,

well-designed questionnaires can capture a breadth of information in a relatively

short timeframe. Through a combination of closed-ended and open-ended

questions, the researcher could gather quantitative data for statistical analysis

alongside qualitative data offering richer, nuanced perspectives from the

teachers themselves.

Statistical Tools
 In this study, the researchers aimed to assess the competence of the

elementary teachers in (ICT) Information and Communication Technology at San

Roque Elementary School. The researchers used the percentage method to

analyze and interpret the data gathered from the survey questionnaires. The

researcher used percentages to convert the numerical data gathered from the

questionnaire.

formula for computing, measuring, and illustrating the respondents' information

and data.
