LEAD-FREE SOLDER
CODE :00ZPNY325SM/E
The PWB’s of this model employs lead-free solder. The “LF” marks indicated on the PWB’s and the Service Manual mean “Lead-Free” solder.

The alphabet following the LF mark shows the kind of lead-free solder.

(1) NOTE FOR THE USE OF LEAD-FREE SOLDER THREAD

When repairing a lead-free solder PWB, use lead-free solder thread. Never use conventional lead solder thread, which may cause a
breakdown or an accident.

Since the melting point of lead-free solder thread is about 40°C higher than that of conventional lead solder thread, the use of the exclu-
sive-use soldering iron is recommendable.

(2) NOTE FOR SOLDERING WORK

Since the melting point of lead-free solder is about 220°C, which is about 40°C higher than that of conventional lead solder, and its soldering
capacity is inferior to conventional one, it is apt to keep the soldering iron in contact with the PWB for longer time. This may cause land
separation or may exceed the heat-resistive temperature of components. Use enough care to separate the soldering iron from the PWB when
completion of soldering is confirmed.

Since lead-free solder includes a greater quantity of tin, the iron tip may corrode easily. Turn ON/OFF the soldering iron power frequently.
If different-kind solder remains on the soldering iron tip, it is melted together with lead-free solder. To avoid this, clean the soldering iron tip
after completion of soldering work.
If the soldering iron tip is discolored black during soldering work, clean and file the tip with steel wool or a fine filer.

When mounting the monitor, be sure to use a wall-mount bracket that complies with the VESA-compatible mounting method.
SHARP recommends using M8 screws (PN-UH861), M6 screws (PN-UH551/UH501/UH431) and tighten the screws.
Note that screw hole depth of the monitor is 13/16 inch (20 mm). Loose mounting may cause the product to fall, resulting in serious
personal injuries as well as damage to the product. The screw and hole should come together with over 11/16 inch (18 mm) length of
thread. Use a bracket which has been approved for UL1678 standard, and which can endure at least 4 times or more the weight of the
monitor.

The power LED is flashing in red and - When the internal temperature of the monitor raises excessively, the brightness of the

When “TEMPERATURE” is displayed in When this occurs, “TEMPERATURE” is displayed on the screen and the Power LED

- If the internal temperature rises further, the monitor automatically enters standby mode.
(The Power LED continues flashing red and green alternately)
- Remove the cause of the excessive temperature rise.
- If the monitor enters standby mode due to a rise in temperature, to return to normal
display, turn the power switch off and then back on again. The monitor, however,
will enter standby mode again if the cause of the temperature rise is not eliminated.
- Check whether the monitor is placed at a location where a quick rise in temperature is
likely. Internal temperature rises quickly if the vents on the monitor are blocked.
- Internal temperature rises quickly if dust accumulates inside the monitor or around
the vents. Remove dust if possible.
When the “AUTO DIMMING” is - When the internal temperature of the monitor rises excessively, the brightness of the
displayed. backlight automatically decreases in order to prevent a further temperature rise. If you
attempt to adjust the brightness while the monitor is in this state. “AUTO DIMMING” is
displayed and you cannot change the brightness.
- Remove the cause of the excessive temperature rise.

1-5. DETECT ABNORMAL TEMPERATURE

This function is monitoring the inner temperature continuously, and if detect abnormal temperature, then notify to a user and control the
monitor behavior. There is a temperature sensor connected in the monitor, and monitoring its value.
The sensor has a threshold value to notify high temperature, control dimming the brightness, and control turning off the monitor. Observe
temperature every a minute, and when the value becomes the threshold temperature and over , and it continues 3 times in a row, each
control is executed.
This monitor judge to rise the inside temperature, then the brightness go down. If the situation escalate more, this monitor power off.
TEMPERATURE STATUS CONTROL
Abnormal temperature Display alert OSD on the screen, and notify.
notification Notifying by Red / Green LED blinks.
Limit backlight brightness When the inner temperature is risen, it prevents the temperature rise by dimming the brightness of the
panel.
The control of power-off If there is no effect of dimming brightness and the temperature over the threshold, the display power-off
for safety.
Save the date / time and the temperature to log if abnormal temperature occurs.

If the display can’t get sensor value 3 times in arrow because of the sensor disconnection, crash etc., it regards the failure of the sensor.
In this case, the following operation restriction and notification of abnormity are executed.
- Brightness is dimmed forcibly (because it can’t get sensor temperature).
- Display alert OSD on screen and notify user of abnormality.
- Blink LED in red and green by 1 second alternately and notice user the abnormity.
Once the failure of the sensor occurred, the malfunction state continues until the power [ON] even if the sensor recovered.
The crashed temperature sensor if displayed as [ERR] on the service menu and [126℃] in the command.

The temperature threshold is as follows.
