 Hometown

Can you describe the town where you grew up?

I was born and raised in Nam Dinh which is a province in the North of Vietnam. My hometown
is a peaceful land. The air is fresh. The weather is very hot and humid in the summer and pretty
cold in the winter. My hometown belongs to agricultural area. It also has ancient, low-rise,
ordinary buildings.
What places of interest are there in your hometown? Where are they?
My hometown has quite a few interesting places to visit like Tran Temple, Ngam Moutain.
Everyone can come here and enjoy the beauty of the places. Tran Temple is a historical site. It
takes me about one hour to get there by motorbike. And it takes me about 30 minutes to commute
to Ngam Moutain by car.
Where do young people in your town meet their friends?
Young people often meet their friends in some interesting places like parks, shopping malls,
cinemas.
Moreover, they also go to Quat Lam beach to swim, sunbath, go camping and play games
together.
 Family
Are you more similar to your mother or your father?
I am more similar to my mother. We have a lot in common (share the same hobbies), so I think I
really get on well with my mom. For example, we both are simple persons. We love going
shopping and can not eat spicy food.
How often do you go out with your family?
We usually go to a restaurant for a change. Sometimes, we go to the park for a picnic and play
games together. I love to spend time with my family after a busy work week.
What do you enjoy doing with your family?
I’m quite fond of cooking with my family. Then, we have our meals together and discuss what's
happening in our life. We also like to travel to different places, go shopping, watch a movie or a
television series together.
Do you prefer spending time with your family or your friends?
I don't know. Sometimes I want to spend time with my friends because we have a lot of things in
common and it's easy for us to find interesting topics to talk about. But when I'm with my family,
I can feel the love from them, which make me feel safe and comfortable.

 Clothes
Are clothes important to you?
Without any doubt, clothes are really important to me. Clothes help me express my personality. I
tend to wear clothes that are comfortable and easy to carry.
Do most people in your country follow fashion?
It’s hard to say exactly. I think teenagers often pay much attention to what to wear or keep up
with fashion trends. However, many people especially adults prefer to dress comfortably.
 Flowers
Do you like flowers?
Yes. I do. Flower is one of the best things to represent beauty in this world. I am keen on flowers,
which are colorful and meaningful. Life would be so boring and gloomy without these lovely
flowers.
Do any flowers have a special meaning in your country?
Yes, they do. For example, lotus is chosen to be the national flower of my country because it
represents the virtues of the people namely purity, trust and honest.
 Happiness
What usually makes you happy?
There are many things that can make me happy, for example, the warm and cozy dinner my mom
has made for me after a long, busy day at work. Other things are shopping and spending time
with my family.
Do you think we can stay happy all the time?
No, that's impossible. Because life is not perfect, there will always challenges that make us feel
sad, and anxious but that's pretty normal. So, I don't believe we can stay happy all the time.
 Evenings
What do you often do in the evenings?
I often have dinner with my family. Then we sit together in the living room talking or watching
television for about an hour. Or, I surf the Internet and chat to my friends.
What is a popular activity for young people in your country in the evenings?
Well, I’m not sure but as far as I know, a lot of teenagers spend time surfing the internet and
watching movies. Because it is a good way to unwind, and sometimes they often have a party on
weekend.
 Music
Do you like music?
I love listening to music when I do my homework, when I do not have anything to do. My
favorite type of music is pop, country,..I am interested in hearing them because it makes me relax
If you could learn a musical instrument, what would it be?
I will try to learn to play guitar .Playing guitar keeps me doing something interesting at home
instead of surfing the Internet for hour. It gives me some time to think and dream.

exhaust fumes from personal vehicles are so harmful to the environment.
2. What will become the most popular means of transport in your country?

And using buses also allows them to travel long distances without worrying too much about
ticket prices or weather conditions outside.

I think I would prefer public transport. It is much more economical compared to owning a private
vehicle like motorbike or car. Buses can carry/accommodate a large number of people, so it helps
reduce traffic jams during peak hours as well as greenhouse gases.

To be honest, not really. I often stay up late to meet the deadlines at school, and I’m also lazy to
do exercise on a regular basis. In addition, I don’t have a balanced diet. I eat quite a lot of fast
food and I don’t eat enough vegetables.
2. What do you do stay healthy?
Well, I think that I will take up a sport and keep practicing on a daily basis. I will also try to
avoid fast food and go on a healthier diet. Another thing I can do to get my health better is to get
into the habit of going to bed before 12 a.m every day.
