Class Profile: A class has been learning for 7 years, they already know poetry.

Lesson Aims
Main Aim: The aim is for students to learn that words carry new meanings in their daily lives, so that they learn to analyze the new meanings of words.

Extracurricular Aim: To caterstudents’ cognitive and linguistic perceptions (visual, verbal and auditory intelligence) by creating a connection between images
of everyday objects and some words; also improving speaking and listening skills by giving them opportunity to form their own sentences via speaking
activities and dialogues.

Outcomes for Students: After this lesson, students will realize that poetry and words in everyday life are connected. I hope they remember these things and
continue to read and analyze poetry as much as stories and novels in the future.

Anticipated Problems and Solutions: Since there will be an communicative class, class attendance may be low. To avoid this, some engaging training
mini-games can be suggested from the previous lesson. It can be helpful to remind students that their ideas are valuable.

Personal Aims of the teacher(s): Learning how to manage a gaming event. Actively use the time. To follow the students' interest and to give more space to
interesting activities in the following lessons.

Materials: Teacher's PDF, The Road Not Taken poem, two continents of poems by George Seferis and William Blake, word papers prepared for drawing lots

Students are introduced to the activity with which poem they are talking about in the lesson. Students recognize poetry. They
learn about the author.
Warm-Up Activity

For the pre-reading activity, several ideas about poetry are shown that upset. Students explain the ideas they agree with and
disagree with.
Main Activity

Students choose a word from a box that they can encounter in everyday life and imagine that they are a poet by using these
words. They think about the theme of a poem and talks to their friends, attaching a meaning to this word. Their friends try to
guess the described symbol word and they does the same. They share a few examples in class.
Close-Up Activity

The teacher gives two poems to the students. They choose one and write a poem with a new theme, based on the original.

Evaluation

Students take each other's poems and read them.
