Important Considerations when Using the Analysis Data Model (ADaM) v2.

ADaM v2.1 was released December 2009 and, although most of the content in the document still
applies today, the user should be aware of the following important subsequent developments that
are not described in ADaM v2.1:

1. An additional class of ADaM datasets. The document "ADaM Structure for Occurrence
Data (OCCDS) Version 1.0", published in 2016, describes an additional class of standard
ADaM datasets, the OCCURRENCE DATA STRUCTURE. For more information, please
see ADaM Structure for Occurrence Data v1.0.

2. Updated ADaM metadata features and examples. The metadata examples shown
in ADaM v2.1 use features applicable to Define-XML v1.0, the version in use in 2009.
While the general concepts of ADaM metadata still apply, please refer to detail and
examples of ADaM metadata within the version of the Define-XML specification and
extensions that will be used with ADaM data. For more information, please see Define-
XML v2.0, published in April 2014 and Analysis Results Metadata Specification v1.0 for
Define-XML v 2.0, published in January 2015.

3. Additional documents and relationship to Implementation Guide versions. In

addition to those documents mentioned above, other documents have been published
subsequent to ADaM v2.1. For information on how the suite of ADaM documents work
together, please see the table titled "Other CDISC Documents and their Applicability to
ADaMIG Versions" in Table 1.3.1.1 of the ADaMIG v1.1.
