provide for the audience in accordance with that , since
Germany is visited by frequent travelers , leisure travelers ,
cultural explorers , solo travelers and family travelers , it is
really important to cater to the needs of those different groups.

Understand the market

According to data, the largest number of international students in Germany are from
China, followed by India, Syria, Austria, Turkey, Iran, Russia and Italy.
● The tourism industry has been around for a really
long time and we’re talking about a country that
has been stable on many different stages , the
tourism industry can be boosted by such apps that
fulfill the needs of tourists when they’re traveling ,
Duffy (2023) mentions that traveling apps are very
convenient these days and they did elevate
tourism and made traveling more efficient . Not

Analysis
: (HolidayExtras, 2023) , these apps already have
flaws and inconveniences that we have personally
experienced , such as running on big data / slow
performance / too many ads and data privacy
concerns.
● WAM should avoid all those hastles by
approaching those inconveniences in a
professional way and use those “perfections” in the
marketing and advertising part since customers
and users really care about these aspects.

Page Design
1. Search filter: The new update will have a search

2. Community page: Using Figma, we created a
screen that will help students. To connect and
reach to each other under the name of
“Community”, the place where they can ask,
talk, answer and give feedbacks on any category
in the app.
3. Modern UI design: To redesign the app Figma was
used, we changed the navigation way and order
between the categories in the main screen to
make it easy and arranged. Moreover, we made
blue the overall app color “to make the interface
dynamic and engaging” (Nikonenko, 2023).

Feedback and Iteration

1. We would release a beta version of the new app layout and design
in order to gather customer feedback and data about the users'
reaction to the changes and figure out whether they are beneficial
to the business and customer experience or not. As we will discuss
in more detail in later slides, feedback will be collected using a
variety of methods so that we can allows users to easily tell us
their thoughts and for us to consistently adjust the app
accordingly.
2. Utilizing A/B testing for our new interface, software, features etc.
3. Create a backlog of possible enhancements based on data
gathered
4. Then we would measure their performance using our set KPI's and
based on user feedback

geographically based systems,
sustainable tourism incorporated

and technology. Wahab, I. (2022)
Phase 3; Finding Product-Market Fit
Understanding the Audience
• The WAM app was created to cater for the needs of international students,
expatriates and Travel enthusiasts visiting Berlin. The app was carefully designed
to cater for the needs of International students ranging from age 18 to 30,
Expatriates (professionals, families) and travel enthusiasts of varying age groups
to help them locate restaurants, hotels, banks, while also serving as the perfect
tour guide, helping them navigate around the city and recommending tourist
attractions for their enjoyment.

Iterative Development:
• We've been able to build the WAM app to meet the core needs of the
audience (International students/Expatriates). We started by creating a simplified
version of the app and it enabled us to gather initial feedback. These feedbacks
were collected through in-apps survey and feedback forms. Based on the
feedback we've been able to pick out pain points, suggestions and preferences,
and this has helped us prioritize improvements of the app overtime. It has also
helped us improve user satisfaction and continue cycle.
Phase 3 cont'd

User Engagement and Retention

• We've been able to engage users by continuous development of the WAM app, ensuring there are a wide range of features. The app has been built
to enable personalized options for users preferences. We also send relevant and timely notifications to make sure users are reminded of the values
of the app and shown offers and new contents. We also make sure to maintain a loyal user base by using churn rate measures to know the
percentage of users who hasn't engaged with the app in a specific period. While also using it to spot the recurring users who continuously visits the
app for various reasons due to the value in it. We've been able offer rewards and discounts to encourage loyal users to stay
engaged, continuously updating the app and refreshing contents also helps to keep users invested. Lastly, we've created an easy channel in the
app for users to reach the support system to report issues and make suggestions for improvement.

Expansion and Adaptation

We've been able to expand and enter cities that border Berlin, a prime example of that is our presence in
Potsdam. We've carefully analyzed user feedback and included multiple languages in our app (currently over 26 languages)
to help accommodate users visiting Berlin from most parts of the world. With our suggestive features, we've been able to
cater for the needs of expatriates of different cultural backgrounds as they'll easily find restaurants and
activities that aligns with their beliefs. We do all of this while complying with every laws and regulations of the land and
making sure our users are aware of these laws.
