Classroom Rules (Always Apply)


1. Be respectful.
2. Be on time.
3. Be prepared.
4. Be on task.
5. Be sure to follow all school and classroom procedures.

In-Classroom Procedures
Entering the classroom
⦿ Enter class on time.

⦿ Put away all cell phones and other electronic devices before entering.

⦿ No food or drinks allowed in classroom. (water only)

⦿ Please do not enter classroom after the late bell.

⦿ Enter the classroom quietly.

⦿ Attend to personal needs before you enter.

⦿ Complete your “Warm-Up” for the day.

⦿ Be prepared to work.

During class
⦿ When I am speaking no one else is.

⦿ Listen and pay attention at all times.

⦿ Raise your hand to ask a question.

⦿ If I am writing notes, you‘d better be too. ☺

⦿ No side conversations during instruction.

⦿ No food or drinks in the classroom (except water)

⦿ Participate.

Before leaving class


⦿ I will dismiss you; the bell does not dismiss you.
⦿ Clean up your areas 2 minutes prior to class ending.

⦿ Pick up around your table. Do not leave garbage on your desk or on the floor.

⦿ All equipment must be put away in designated areas.

⦿ Push your chair under the table and exit quietly.

If you are tardy


⦿ Tardiness is not acceptable.

⦿ A tardy will be excused only if you bring a note from your teacher.

⦿ If you don’t have a note, you will be marked tardy.

⦿ Excessive tardiness will result in disciplinary action including lunch detention,


call home, office referral.

If you are absent


⦿ See me the day you return to school for your work. I will catch you up.

⦿ It is your responsibility to come to me after you’re absent. I will not track


you down.

My Classroom is a SAFE area to learn…


1. No Harassing
2. No Intimidation
3. No Bullying
4. No Kidding!!!

Consequences
In this class, I expect you follow my classroom Rules. If you fail to do so, the following
steps will occur:
1. Verbal warning
2. Student conference
3. Parent Contact
4. Lunch Detention with teacher
5. Referral to administration
Severe interruption: sent to the office immediately

Substitute procedures
⦿ If I should be absent from school, I expect you to give the substitute complete
respect.
⦿ All rules and procedures should be followed every day regardless of who is up
front.
⦿ If your name is left by a substitute for any negative reason, you will receive a
referral and I will call home.
⦿ The number one rule in this class is to be respectful. This does not change when
I’m not here.

REMEMBER…
⦿ If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to
learn, no one can stop you.
⦿ It is going to be a great year and I can’t wait to see how you will grow in class.
