I come from a family of four. My father, Mr. Ajit Tukaram Sawant, works as a Supervisor in the
RAC department at ITI Govandi, Mumbai. He is a government employee and has a stable income,
which has provided for our family over the years. My mother, Mrs. Bharti Ajit Sawant, is a
homemaker and has always encouraged me to pursue my dreams. She dreams of me gaining global
exposure and pursuing my career abroad. My younger brother, Mr. Aditya Ajit Sawant, is currently
studying for his company secretary examination and is a B. Com student. I am excited to see where
my future will take me.
Academic Background
After completing my 10th grade (Maharashtra State Board) in the year 2016 from St. Joseph's High
School in New Panvel, India with a score of 74%, I pursued my 12th-grade form Maharashtra
Higher secondary board in the science stream at CKT Jr. College, in the year 2018. After the post,
I started preparing for the NEET examination but as I started learning about different job
opportunities, hospitality drew my mind.
I decided to pursue a career in the hospitality industry as it also involved serving people, and I was
fascinated by the vast job opportunities it offered. Before joining a hospitality school, I was a
complete introvert, but being in the hospitality industry has transformed me into an extrovert with
an outgoing personality. I secured 85% in Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism in the
year 2022.
While studying hospitality, two subjects that particularly interested me were Front Office and
Nutrition Science. The Front Office helped me build my personality and develop my
communication skills, and as I had a science background, I was also good at Nutrition Science.
During my studies I participated in various activities, I also obtained a Level 2 certification as a
Food Safety Supervisor from FSSAI, which allowed me to learn about food safety and hygiene
standards, I am a certified Food Safety Supervisor Level 2- Awarded by FSSAI. My interest in
helping and training others has led me to pursue a career in human resources and learning and
development. Overall, my educational journey has been a fulfilling and exciting experience, and
I look forward to where my future will take me.
I appeared for IELTS on 25th July 2022 and scored an overall band of 7.0. The individual scores
in each band are as follows: Listening –8.0, Reading –7.0, Writing – 6.5, and speaking – 6.5.
Achievements:
I’ve always been an active learner and a participant. While pursuing my higher secondary
education I discovered that I have writing skills and I can write poems as well as blogs. To support
this statement, I participated in a poem writing competition in my Junior College and managed to
secure 1st position. I participated in many workshops that were organized by our college as the list

by Khushboo Doshi, House Keeping Operations post-COVID-19, Ascending Above Genders

Apart from these certifications, Additionally, I also took several online courses to boost my overall

and Customer Service Mastery: Delight every customer by Chris Croft.

Work Experience
While pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Hospitality and Tourism, as a part of our
curriculum we were sent to train and get exposure in the industry, I was fortunate to get
industrial exposure training at St. Regis, Mumbai which is one of the classic luxury properties
owned and managed by the Marriott group. During this extensive training of 6 months from 18th
October 2021 to 16th April 2022. I worked and gained experience in all four core departments,
including Human Resources, Finance, and Marketing, and there it was... I discovered my area of
interest and a department where I can work comfortably and confidently, which is Human
Resources.
I joined as a Learning and Development Associate, (Human Resources) at the Oberoi Mumbai
and Trident Nariman Point on 2nd Jan 2023. As a Learning and Development Associate, my
primary responsibility is to oversee employee training programs, manage employee engagement
activities, and supervise industrial trainees. It also includes Upskilling and training of employees,
leading orientation for the new hires and educating them about the industry, preparing and
evaluating reports to inform top management of the staff about the training program’s
development, Using a Learning Management System to create new courses that can help
employees receive training more quickly and efficiently. I also conduct Leading Quality
Assurance (LQA) audits to ensure that the hotels maintain high-quality standards in all their
operations. In addition to my regular duties, I actively participate in the recruitment process,
onboarding new employees, and organizing team-building events to foster a positive work
environment. Working here has also allowed me to work on software such as Newgen and SAP
which are multifunctional operating database software that allows for the management of the
whole employee lifetime by the business, from hiring and onboarding to their retirement or
termination.
I enjoy my work as a Learning and Development Associate role because it allows me to interact
with colleagues from different departments and learn more about the hotel industry. My job has
helped me polish my communication, organizational, and leadership skills, and I'm proud to have
been recognized as Star of the Month for March 2023 for my outstanding performance. Here I
understood there is a lot in this area (HR) I need to explore so decided for aboard study so that
more such rewards can be cherished.
Why study in Canada?
Due to its top-notch educational system and stunning scenery, Canada was my top choice for my
academic location. Collaborative learning is heavily emphasized in Canada's post-graduate
education system, which is also highly regarded and respected in India and other international
job markets. More than 200,000 foreign students choose to study in Canada each year because of
the country's efforts to ensure that students are secure (12th rank in world index safety), treated
fairly, and enjoy their time in the country while studying. Canada offers one of the most exciting
and diverse academic environments. Since it serves as a gathering place for students from all
over the world, it serves as a forum for discussions amongst individuals of various racial and
cultural backgrounds.
Human Resources (HR) is the department of a company that deals with finding, recruiting, selecting, and
training applicants. The best thing about HR is that I have a passion to train individuals (employees) from
which the organization will make a profit. I believe that recruiting the “Right Fit” for open positions is
always a priority.
I did my thoughtful study on the courses where my interest and passion in hospitality and
recruiting will enhance, I chose to study Business Management: Human Resources. The focus of
both business management and human resources is on people, collaboration, and efficient
communication. The learning is shared for three topics that are crucial to understanding:
professional communication, the legal aspects of human resources, and labor relations.
These are some of the topics that my chosen course covers and about which I am very interested.
The HR environment has seen significant advancements, from becoming a sector at the vanguard
of organizations to reacting to the newest technology of the post-Covid period, and this is what
fascinates me the most, Human resources are considered a very niche sector and are only thought
of the department of a company which takes care of recruitment and employee engagement, but
there is so much to it like Employment Law And Statutory Compliance, Leave Policies:
Employee Experience, Pay Role, Talent Acquisition, New-Age HR Tech Upskilling of the
employee’s Harassment at Workplace And Professional Behavior (POSH) and many more.
Given the great potential and demand for qualified HR employees, I would like to learn and apply
new strategies and lessons in my native country.

When I decided to on the program which is Human Resources, I started working on finding the
options related to that. After studying many colleges in Ontario province, I came across Lambton
College which designs its program in a unique way where they have an academic break.
In addition, Lambton College's personalized attention and emphasis on student success appeal to
me. They are committed to enhancing students' physical health and well-being through sports
and leisure activities.
Future Goal
As I plan to return to India after completing my education, I have set some short-term and long-
term goals to achieve in the future. In the short term, I want to work with some of the best
hospitality companies in India such as the IHCl, Oberoi Group, and Marriotts as a Human Resource
Executive. I want to bring my expertise and experience in the hospitality industry to these
companies and contribute to their growth while enhancing my skills in the field.
With my experience and education, I am confident that I can take up roles such as Human Resource
Manager, Talent Acquisition Manager, or Learning and Development Manager in these companies
with a starting average annual package of ₹ 9 Lakhs per annum to ₹ 18.0 Lakhs per annum
These roles will allow me to leverage my skills in the hospitality industry and contribute to the
growth of the companies.
India is a land of opportunities, and the hospitality industry is one of the fastest-growing industries
in the country. With the government's focus on tourism and the increasing demand for high-quality
hospitality services, the industry is poised for growth in the coming years. Moreover, India's
diverse culture and rich heritage make it an attractive destination for tourists from all over the
world.
As a human resource professional, I believe that India provides a unique opportunity to work in a
dynamic and challenging environment. The hospitality industry in India offers diverse
opportunities for HR professionals to grow and learn new skills. Moreover, the chance to work
with some of the best companies in the industry will enable me to gain valuable experience and
knowledge.
Family Ties
My family is the most important thing in my life, and meeting their needs is my main priority.
We are a well-knit family, and my younger sibling and I are quite close. We are each other's
inspiration. My family is my constant source of motivation and strength. Since I was a child, I
have always lived with my family, their presence has shaped who I am today and We have a
strong bond built on love, trust, and mutual support, I constantly look to them for inspiration and
motivation. My father presently supports my higher education, which is funded by an
educational loan, so after I return to India, my main goal will be to accept a position in a high-
paying role so that I can repay the loan on my own.
How do I finance my Education?
I have paid the full one-year tuition fees of CAD 16,890 and deposited the GIC amount of CAD
10,000 in CIBC Bank. Thus, I will not face any financial difficulties during my study in Canada.
The college payment receipt and GIC money transfer confirmation received from CIBC Bank are
enclosed.
I have taken an educational loan of $42,395 amount of Education loan (Conversion rate as of 30-
05-2023), which would be enough for the entire tenure of my course. If required, my father is a
government-salaried employee with a stable income, and he would be taking care of my finances.
Conclusion
I am looking forward to having the opportunity to study in Canada. This would help me widen my
horizon by meeting and interacting with peers from all around the globe. I would appreciate it if
you would help me gain further knowledge and expand my experience by studying in, Canada.
