Multiple Tank Database (Optional)

This is your tank selector. The tank you chose here will be used as the basis for fertilizer calculations in all calculators.
Default Wizard Tank
The 'Default Wizard Tank' is the one being configured with the 'Tank Builder Tool' above.

Here you can save multiple tanks for future use. Simply write a tank name in the 'Tank Name' column (under 'Default Wizard Tank'), then copy and paste (AS VALUE ONLY)* values you see
highlighted in red to the corresponding line where you entered your tank name. These values are the result of the 'Tank Builder' and 'Dosing Regime' you configured above. Column 'AIO Select
Y/N' allows you to chose if you want AIO dosing or not. Values taken for AIO will be those of the MACRO. ALWAYS make sure you copy cells AS VALUES ONLY*. Restart from 1. >> if you want to
add additional tanks.

Weighing accurately in grams is far easier than in micrograms. Unless you have a realiable high precision analytical
scale (0.001 gr accuracy with a minimum weighing capacity of say 0.01 gr), doing serial dilutions are advisable specially
for Cu, Mo, Ni and Co since amounts can be minute (generaly < 0.05 gr) when producing small fertilizer volumes. Not
only will this method save you time but will also improve accuracy. Serial dillutions should not be required for Fe and
perhaps not for Mn, Zn and B.

Mixing order recommendation (suggested by X3NiTH):

① Zinc compound first as it can precipitate if the water is not properly acidified (re-acidifying the water results in Zinc
oxidizing and becoming plant unavailable) ② Manganese next as it is generally the next heaviest mass of compound
to add ③ then Boric Acid ④ then Copper ⑤ then Molybdate ⑥ then Nickel ⑦ then Cobalt ⑧ Last Iron because it
will change the color of the mixture and masks any potential precipitate formation from other compounds.

For customization purposes, you will be asked a few questions. If you do not know the answers to some of these questions then leave the cells blank/to their default value. Note that
througout the sheets of this calculator, only cells highlighted in blue (as this one) are editable. Cells with a red border are dropdown menus. All others are locked to prevent unwanted
editing or deletion.
1. UNIT HELPER 4. AMMONIA & UREA
ALL user input in the calculator needs to be done in metric units. However, below you have the option to
select imperial units which ONLY serve as a visual reference. You can also select your preferred currency
which is used for fertilizer cost assessments. Ammonia and Urea can be used as a Nitrogen source. However, they can potentially be unsafe if dosed
inappropriately. Do you understand the risks involved in using them?
Note: all default costs provided in section 8. are in GBP (£). If you select a different currency, you need to (Calculator assumes all 'N' gets converted by the bacteria in your tank to NO3 ions)
convert the values as this calculator does not make the conversion.

2. YOUR AREA WATER REPORT (WR) 5. HYDRATE/COMPOUND SELECTOR
If you wish for the mineral content of your TAP water to be accounted for in your fertilizer calculations you
can provide your water utility's water report below. We have only integrated parameters relevant to the Some of the compounds used as fertilizers are hydrates. Pick the ones you would like to use here below. If
purpose of this calculator. you have no idea what this is, leave as is. You can always change later.

Parameter Value Unit My notes

### Carbonate Hardness (CH) mg/l CaCo3 aka alkalinity or temporary hardness Magnesium Sulfate Hepta. MgSO₄∙7H₂O 'Epsom salt'
### Nitrate (NO₃) mg/l Calcium Chloride Di. CaCl₂∙2H₂O
### Phosphate (PO₄) mg/l Calcium Sulfate Di. CaSO₄∙2H₂O 'Gypsum'
### Potassium (K) mg/l Monopotassium Phosphate KH₂PO₄
### Magnesium (Mg) mg/l Hemi. = Hemihydrate (1/2) / Mono. = Monohydrate (1) / Di. = Dihydrate (2)
### Calcium (Ca) mg/l Tetra. = Tetrahydrate (4) / Hexa. = Hexahydrate (6) / Hepta. = Heptahydrate (7)
### Choride (Cl) mg/l 6. SALT SOLUBILITY
### Nickel (Ni) mg/l Here you can set the salt solubility level. Keeping it at 75% may avoid solubility issues when designing a
Sulfate (SO₄) mg/l fetilizer with multiple compounds. Going lower will simply warn you that you have reached solubility levels
### Sodium (Na) mg/l much earlier.

3. ELEMENTS UPPER LIMIT

Salt Solubility Level (%) 75%
Here you can increase the upper (maximum) limit the calculator should use when making calculations. Beyong
these values the calculators will refuse to calculate. If you experience an "upper limit exceeded" error while Note: Solubilty of Fe chelates will vary with water PH. Values used in the calculator are based on Solufeed products.
~ using the calculators, simply increase the value of the corresponding element here. Variations may exist with other brands.

Element Value Unit Mini. Val. My notes 7. SCALE

Nitrate (NO₃) 100 ppm 45 Here you can set the overall level of accuracy of your scale. This is used to provide guidance in the
Phosphate (PO₄) 100 ppm 10 DIYTraceCalculator and does not interfere with actual calculations.
Potassium (K) 100 ppm 40 Take this with a grain of salt.

SHEETS

Home
Self-explanatory.

TankAndDosing
This sheet serves as your starting point to design your fertilizer. Here you set your tank volume/dimensions, whether you use RO water or not and your dosing regime.
There is also an option to store multiple tanks so you don't have to enter the data each time. Follow the instructions provided in the sheet.

TargetCalculator
Here you can design a clone from a known commercial fertilizer or known regime (e.i. EI, PMDD, ADA Dosing etc). You can also desgin your own fertilizer with your own PPM targets.
To select which compound to use simply input a ratio. This enables you to fine tune the proportions of each compound.

DIYCalculator
This calulator is similar to the TargetCalculator except here you can use weights instead of PPM. The clone feature is not available in this calculator.

DIYTraceCalculator
This calculator is for the more advanced users who wish to produce their own trace mix. Traces can be selected independently. A serial dilution option is also available.
Both PPM and Grams can be used as input.

ReminCalculator
This calculator allows you to design a clone from a known commercial remineralizer or by targeting dGH, dKH, Ca:Mg ratio and K.
To select which compound to use simply input a ratio. This enables you to fine tune the proportions of each compound.
There is one exception to this calculator. The dosing amount and container volume are to be populated directly on the calculator sheet and not in the TankAndDosing sheet.

CostDetails
This sheet provides the cost details of the fertilizers/remineralizers/clones you produce in all calculators. Costs are broken down by compound used in the fertilizer you produced.

CoreSettings
This sheet is used to fine tune and configure your calculator. For example, you can input your local water report, select hydrates or set your compound cost among other settings.
It is recommended but not required that you go through this sheet thoroughly before starting anything.

Disclaimer & Notes

* We will not be held reponsible for any losses that may occur due to the use of this calculator.
* Every effort was made to make this calculator free of bugs and to provide accurate information but no one is perfect so keep that in mind.
* All information used in this calculator as a source to make calculations is available to the public.
* Some fertilizers manufacturers do not always provide complete information regarding their product composition. In some instances they may even intentionally obfuscate the information to prevent the public from copying their formula. Keep that in mind.
* Pseudo Compare Cost of Clone (per Kg/L): Since clones can be dosed in different volumes and/or different masses of dry salts (due to different salts being used by the commercial product), the Pseudo Compare Cost objectively compares clone cost with the commercial products they intend to clone. The Pseudo Compare Cost uses the weekly clone cost and how long the mass/volume of commercial product would last to achieve the same weekly PPMs/dGH/dKH.
