3. In the upper right corner of the browser, click Help > Tips to review helpful
information.
4. In the panel on the left, locate the lab environment under Enrollments to start.
1. From the CONSOLES panel on the left, unlock the console for the NMC host.
Sign in with the following credentials:
Password: Student1!
2. The desktop contains two text files that are named Network and Passwords.
These files contain all the DNS names, IP addresses, and passwords for the
environment.
3. If any consoles are not accessible, use the POWER RESET option at the top
of the console.
Scenario:
The purpose of this lab is to install NetWorker Server software in the lab
environment.
Login: root
Password: Student1!
cd /software
ls -l
/opt/nre/nreconfig.sh
8. On the NW console, list the contents of the /software directory with the
following command:
ls -l
10. On the NW console, configure the Authentication Service with the following
command:
/opt/nsr/authc-server/scripts/authc_configure.sh
11. Accept the default location of the NRE software by pressing Enter.
12. During the installation, the hostname nw.dellemc.edu and the port number
9090 are used by default.
13. A keystore file is created. Specify the password to be used by the NetWorker
software:
14. The administrator account is created. Specify the password to be used for the
Administrator user.
Scenario:
17. From the consoles tab in VLP, open the NMC console.
Password: Student1!
18. Open File Explorer from the taskbar and browse to the following location:
Z:\Software\
Click Next.
20. In the End-User License Agreement window, select I accept the terms in
the License Agreement.
Click Next.
21. Accept the default installation location C:\Program Files\NRE, and then click
Next.
1. On the NMC console, open File Explorer and browse to the following location:
Z:\Software\win_x64\networkr
Click Next.
Click Next.
Enable Client.
Click Next.
Click Next.
6. In the Security Alert window, read the message and click View Certificate.
Click Next.
11. In the Configure embedded web server of NMC window, accept the default
Create a new certificate.
Click Next.
12. In the NMC Database Options window, accept the default options.
Click Next.
13. In the Migrating the NMC Database window, accept the default Skip the
Migration.
Click Install.
15. In the Complete the Setup window, verify that the installation was successful.
Note that the installation and setup log location have been specified.
16. To verify the installation using PowerShell, click the Windows icon to access
the Start menu.
17. To verify that the appropriate NetWorker services are started, run the following
commands from Windows PowerShell:
get-service nsr*
get-service gst*
1. From the Start menu, locate the folder NRE and click NMC Launcher.
2. Enter the NMC server hostname nmc.dellemc.edu when the window appears.
Click Connect.

6. In the Set authentication server service account for the NMC server
window, accept the default authentication server service account information.
Click Next.
7. In the Define Database Backup Server window, type the name of the
NetWorker server:
Click Next.
8. In the Specify a list of managed NetWorker servers window, type the name
of the NetWorker server:
Click Finish.
9. In the Enterprise window, click the name of the NetWorker server on the left.
The vertical pane divider to the right may have to be dragged to display the
tree.
Scenario:
The purpose of this lab is to install NetWorker Management Web UI (NWUI) in the
lab environment.
Login: root
Password: Student1!
cd /software
ls -l
12. Install the NetWorker Runtime Environment (NRE) software with the following
command:
/opt/nre/nreconfig.sh
14. From the /software directory, install the NWUI software with the following
command:
/opt/nwui/scripts/nwui_configure.sh
16. Accept the default location of the NRE software by pressing Enter.
17. During the installation, the hostname nwui.dellemc.edu and the port
number 9090 are used by default.
18. A keystore file is created. Specify the password to be used by the NetWorker
software:
20. The NWUI daemons should start automatically. Check the status by typing the
following command:
If the daemons are not running, start the daemons by typing the command:

24. Verify access to the resources in the left menu using the Dashboard.
Scenario:
The purpose of this lab is to install a NetWorker Storage Node in the lab
environment.
Login: root
Password: Student1!
cd /software
ls -l
The NetWorker client, extended client, and storage node packages are listed.
27. The required packages must be installed in the following order: NetWorker
client, extended client, and storage node.
Username: DellEMC/Administrator
Password: Student1!
30. Launch the Firefox web browser from the taskbar at the bottom.

If a security warning appears, click Advanced and Accept the Risk and

33. From the menu on the left, expand Devices and Media.
34. To add server sn.dellemc.edu as an external storage node click +ADD in the
main window.
Name: sn.dellemc.edu
Type: SCSI
Click Server Messages. A message appears if there are any problems adding
the storage node.
Scenario:
The purpose of this lab is to install NetWorker clients in the lab environment.
Username: DellEMC\Administrator
Password: Student1!
2. Open File Explorer from the taskbar and browse to the following location:
\\nmc\z$\Software\win_x64\win_x64\networkr
Click Next.
Click Next.
Click Next.
Click Next.
Click Install.
9. In the Complete the Setup window, verify that the installation was successful.
Note that the installation and setup log location is specified.
10. In the Complete the Setup page, click Select Backup Server.
12. To verify that the appropriate NetWorker services are started, run the following
command from Windows PowerShell:
get-service nsr*
Login: root
Password: Student1!
cd /software
ls -l
15. The required packages must be installed in the following order: NetWorker
client, extended client.
Username: DellEMC\Administrator
Password: Student1!
18. Launch the Firefox web browser from the taskbar at the bottom.

Select Clients.
22. To add server WINDOWS as a NetWorker client click +ADD in the main
window.
Name: windows.dellemc.edu
Click NEXT.
25. Allow a few minutes for the next screen. In Save Sets Configuration, accept
the default options.
Click NEXT.
Click NEXT.
Click FINISH.
29. Add linux.dellemc.edu as a client using the same procedure. Specify the
hostname and accept all the default options.
Scenario:
Password: Student1!
2. Open File Explorer from the taskbar and browse to the following location:
\\nmc\z$\Software
Click Next.
Click Next.
Click Next.
9. Copy the license.lic file (Dell EMC NetWorker license file) from the NMC
server \\nmc\Z$\Software.
10. To configure and start the Dell EMC License server service, start LMTOOLS
from the desktop of the LICENSE server.
The bottom of the dialog box should display: Server Start Successful.
Close LMTOOLS.
18. In the Licensing tab, click the Browse icon next to the CLP license text field
to browse to the location of the license file.
Select the license.lic file from Z:\Software and then click Open. If prompted
to copy the license to the license location, click OK.
Click OK and click OK again to validate the same license file has been copied
to the correct location.
20. Click the Licensing tab. Then, click the yellow Validate box to validate the
CLP license file.
Click OK.
Click OK.
Verify that the license name is CLP Capacity License and Authorized - No
expiration date.
Scenario:
The purpose of this lab is to remotely upgrade a NetWorker client using Package
Manager in NMC.
Click Next.
Click Next.
27. In Select the NetWorker Client Properties, accept the default options.
Click Next.
Click Next.
Click Finish.
Click OK to accept the location and OK again to confirm that the repository is
created successfully.
32. A window is displayed to identify the platform of the NetWorker software and
its location. Since the NetWorker server is Linux and the UPGRADE client is
Linux, this is a native platform.
33. In Media Kit, locate the NetWorker upgrade software on the NetWorker server
by clicking Media kit location.
Select the software folder from the nw.dellemc.edu server. This is the folder
containing the NetWorker Linux packages.
Click OK.
34. Click Open Media Kit to discover the upgrade software packages available.
Click Add.
36. A message appears that the NetWorker software has been added to the
repository.

44. Show the NetWorker packages installed with the following command:
Verify that the NetWorker client and extended client packages are version
19.6.
REMINDER
Action is required to ensure that course credit is given upon completion of on-
demand labs. Instructor-led labs do not use the END button.
• To get credit for this on-demand lab, it is required to click the End button within
the allotted time.
• Failure to do so places the training in a permanent state of "In Progress."
