A perfume bottle costs $50 more than a blouse. Together, 4 perfume bottles and a blouse cost $575. So the cost of 1 perfume bottle is $125. 3. There were 756 cows and 2100 chickens on the farm. There were 2100 - 756 = 1344 more chickens than cows on the farm.

1. A baker baked 5640 cupcakes a day. The cupcakes were packed into boxes of 6 and
sold at $5 per box. At the end of the day, 10 boxes were left. How much money did
the baker collect from the sale of the cupcakes?

2. A bottle of perfume cost $50 more than a blouse. 4 such bottles of perfume and a
blouse cost $575. What is the cost of 1 bottle of perfume?

3. There were 756 cows on a farm. There were 2100 chickens on the farm. How many
more chickens than cows were there on the farm?

4. There are 4 more girls than boys in a class. Each boy is given 4 chocolates and each
girl is given 9 chocolates. A total of 205 chocolates are given out.
(a) Find the number of boys in the class.
(b) Find the total number of chocolates given to the girls.

5. Pauline had $246 more than Angela. Natasha had $997 more than Pauline. If
Angela had $1675, how much does Natasha have?

6. A dress cost 3 times as much as a skirt. If each dress costs $144, find the cost of 1
dress and 12 skirts.

7. Belle has 831 more picture cards than Annie. Carla has 490 more picture cards
than Belle. The 3 girls have 7228 picture cards altogether. How many picture cards
does Carla have?

8. Maxwell has between 20 and 30 balloons. If he packs these balloons into bags of 6,
he will have 5 balloons left. If he packs them into bags of 5, he will be short of 2
balloons. How many balloons does Maxwell have?

9. Jonathan had thrice as much money as Melanie. After Jonathan had given Melanie
$140, they had an equal amount of money. How much money did each of them
have at first?

10. Melissa, Geraldine and Stephanie had 825 beads altogether. Melissa had twice as
many beads as Geraldine. Geraldine had 15 more beads than Stephanie. How many
beads did Stephanie have?

11. 2 brothers and 4 sisters paid $2450 for a sofa set. Each of the sisters contributed
$425. The rest of the cost was shared equally between the 2 brothers. How much
did each brother contribute?

12. Allison bought 52 cartons of canned food. Each carton contained 24 cans. He
repacked them into boxes of 8 cans and sold each box for $15. How much money
did he receive from selling all the canned food?

13. Theo has twice as many marbles as Martin. Martin has 340 marbles more than
Dave. If the three of them have 2600 marbles in all, how many marbles does Theo
have?

14. 3 necklaces cost as much as 7 bracelets. If 3 necklaces and 3 bracelets cost $1860,
find the cost of 1 necklace.

15. The total cost of 20 cheeseburgers and 45 packets of fries is $150. The total cost of
10 cheeseburgers and 25 drinks is $55. Each packet of fries costs $1 more than each
drink. What is the cost of each cheeseburger?

16. 100 trees were planted along a straight road. The trees were planted at 9 m apart.
What was the distance between the first and the last tree?
