Principles of Management

Spring 2020 Key AD1005 CRN 10631 6 Credits

I. Meeting Times
Class meets on Tuesday and Friday from 11:30 am – 12:50 pm
Two classes per week

II. Description
You will study concepts, terminology, theories in the field of management. An emphasis
will be on management process, external environment, organizational culture, social
responsibility. All the content of the course is on your syllabus or analytical program.

Requirements
Prerequisites: None for the Business School. If you are from another school visit your
Program Director please.
This is a core curriculum statement for School Business

IV. Course Requirements

Exams
There will be two major exams before the final exam
Total exams: three
Exams may be a combination of multiple choice, true/false, matching, short answers.
Exams may come from any information in text book, activities during the class or any
other material presented in the course and includes the teacher´s comments.
Students are not permitted to work collaboratively on exams. If one student is caught
working together on exam or one of them tries to copy an exam he or she will receive a
permanent zero on that exam and that will not be replaced by any later exam score. In
addition, the student will go to the integrity council. Please, don’t make mistakes.
The final exam will consist of a series of topics that the professor will give you later,
almost al the end of the semester.
Exams Date
1st Partial on October Friday 9th
2nd Partial on November Friday 13th
Final Exam on December 11th at 11:30 o’clock

Note:
Once the score is on UDEM platform, there is not change on score. Includes 2 partials and
final exam.

Activities
During the classes will be some activities that correspond to the topics seen in class. May
be exercises, cases among others. These activities will be given by the professor.

Homework
Every homework will be received by blackboard. Most of the homework is an individual
work. If a student is found to be collaborating on individual assignments, it will be a
dishonesty action. If the homework is permitted to collaborate or work together the
professor will notified you.

1. Develop activities 10%
2. Establishment cases, homework 10%
3. Exams 80% 70% (2 @ 35% each one)
4. Final Exam 30%
Total 100%

**Extra Credits opportunities may be possible. Instructor has discretion on what and when
may be assigned.

will be notified, the student will lose an assistance, and if the case is serious, such as

Attendance Policy
Attendance is taken in every class. Absences will be counted and students can be
withdrawn for not attending class.
A student has allowed 4 absences during all semester.
If a student is participating on any cultural, sporting or some activity in this university only
show the signed format to the instructor. This university allows this kind of absences and
they are recognized by the institution.
If a student must be absence for some reason please notified your instructor. Instructor
has discretion about what cases can be allowed.
