A. Preparation and To prepare the environment and learners for the Reading Session
Settling In 1. Learners gather their chosen reading materials and find a comfortable spot in the
room.
2. Teachers create a quiet and conducive reading atmosphere.
3. Brief relaxation exercises for a reading mindset.
B. Dedicated Reading To engage in uninterrupted reading.
Time 1. Learners read independently or with a partner.
2. Teachers set positive example by engaging in reading.
3. Minimal movement or distractions, learners stay focused on their books.
4. Encourage writing or drawing if a learner finishes early. Or write a reflection note
for intermediate levels.
C. Progress Monitoring To Assess progress, address reading issues, build relationships, and reflect on experiences:
through Reflection 1. Voluntary sharing of interesting parts, themes, or book recommendations
and Sharing 2. Teachers facilitate a brief discussion on the importance of reading.
3. Learners relate stories to personal experiences during sharing.
4. Learners read their reading log to the group.
