GUIDELINES FOR GROUP PROJECT ASSIGNMENT (GROUP C & D)
PEDAGOGICAL OBJECTIVES
The objective of this group project assignment is to enhance students understanding towards the
important concept and practiced related with the public sector financial management in
Malaysia.

GROUP PROJECT ASSIGNMENT GENERAL REQUIREMENTS


Each group are required to prepare a proposal and not more than 25 pages of final report.
Group project assignment will be carried 25% of total coursework assessment.

PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS
Each group are required to prepared a proposal that comprises the topic, objectives and brief idea
about your study. All group are encouraging to show a complete proposal and discuss with the
lecturer within two-week time (end of week 4; 8 Nov 2023 (Tuesday). Proposal will carry 5%
of total group project assignment.

FINAL REPORT FORMAT AND REQUIREMENTS


Final report will carry 20% of total group project assignment marks. The final report
project shall be prepared using MS WORD 2010 or latest version, Font 12, line spacing 1.5,
justify text and using APA latest version style.
Each group also required to prepare not more than 12 pages a power point presentation of the
group project assignment.
The contents for final report of group project should be comprising of the following information:
 Cover page
 Full title of the project assignment
 Group project
 Group lecture
 List of name and metric number of groups member (ascending order)
 Name of lecturer
 Date of submission
 References (appropriate citation-at least 10 different sources of references)
 Number of pages not more than 25 pages (excluding references and appendixes).
 Submission date: Thursday, 22 June, 2023).

ASSESSMENTS
a. Final reports writing will carry 15% and being assess based on the following;
i. Content of discussion (coverage, achievement of objective, clear) – 50%

ii. Presentation of report (clear, structured, support with literature) - 30%
iii.Language (free from error, easy to understand, standard language) – 10%
iv. Others – 10%
b. Power point presentation – 5%

TIPS IN PREPARING A GOOD PROPOSAL


1. Please understand the topic well.
2. Please discuss with group members on the objectives, coverage, limitation and scope of
the topic to ensure it will cope/suit with the pedagogical objective of the project assignment
and project assignment requirements.
3. In preparing the proposal, please search and get the sample annual report for particular
period and search the related and relevant journal article related with financial sustainability for
public universities.
4. Please search AND find out a purple book (Higher Learning guideline).
5. Please booking the appointment time with lecturer for consultation during proposal
development (suggested in week 3 & 4).

Suggested Contents of Proposal & 25 Pages Final Report.
1. Introduction/ Background of the study
1.1 Background related with sustainability and financial sustainability
1.2 Background related with your sample.
2. Objectives of the study (Between 2-3 objectives)
Just list your objectives (normally 2/3 objective) in descending order (from lower to higher),
example

3. To discuss ….
3. Literature Review (Need to be exhaustive; comprehensive & currently)
Literature at least must be covers your areas (financial sustainability), your sample (public
university) and your Objectives (concept & definition of sustainability & financial
sustainability, the important of financial sustainability, measurements of financial
sustainability and finding of the achievement of financial sustainability from previous study).
Develop your literature based on section & subsection.
4. Methodology
4.1 Data collection method (mention your method in collecting the data; example, data
(annual report of the sample) are collected based on internet search (www…..), or whatever
method you are used.
4.2 Data analysis technique. In order to achieve the particular objective, please mention your
analysis technique that you will apply (the technique must be based on the previous study
that you are gathered in literature part).
