b. Appreciate the importance of viewed materials.
c. Discuss how viewed materials differ from each other.

Lesson: Genres of Viewing


Materials: Cartolina, marker, masking tape, glue, manila paper, pictures
References: English Quarter 1-Module 2: Genres of Viewing pp.12-13.

Instruction:
 The teacher will give the students an activity sheet.
 The students’ task is to supply what is ask in each item.
The Genre Challenge
Direction: Recall the titles of movies or video clips you’ve watched and have them
listed on the chart below. You can include two titles in your example.

 Group together the pictures with the same genre. Once the pictures are sorted
out, study carefully and decide what are common features observed to these
pictures.

Is another type of genre which is in a form of visual. Meaning, it is something that is
seen or viewed especially that of found in television screen or in an internet-based
programs.

IV. EVALUATION
Mechanics:
 Same group from the activity.
 Each group will pick from a set of rolled paper for their type of task.
Instructions:
 From the chosen task (graphic organizer, essay, genre analysis), each group will
differentiate viewed materials from each other based on the genre of viewing.
 The task should be done within 8-10minutes.
 One representative will share their insights in front of the class.

V. ASSIGNMENT
 Sit down on your television and jot down Titles of the Program you viewed. Then,
categorize each according to its genre. Learn and Have Fun!
